I've been hearing some great things and had to come check it out. I decided my birthday was the perfect opportunity. We hopped in the car and headed over. The location is very small and shares a shopping center with a grocery store and other restaurants. You can sit inside, but be prepared that it may not happen with how busy it gets. There are two tables inside that fit about 4-5 people as well as a high top that goes the length of the window. Add the couple tables outside for two and there's a little more. We were greeted right away and took a few moments to look over the menu. It is not very large, but had some amazing options. Not only are there cheesesteaks; there are burgers, wings, loaded fries etc . We went a bit overboard (it was my birthday after all) and ordered so much. We decided on the empire cheesesteaks , Baja fries, spicy buffalo wings and a Chicago dog. We ordered all as a meal to get fries. We saw only two employees and more and more people coming in after we ordered, but they kept up well with the rush and it smelled so damn good inside. We waited for our food while we enjoyed our fountain drinks. Service was friendly and we had our food soon after. Everything looked so damn good and fries crispy. That first bite of the empire solidified I made the right decision. So dang good. So much flavor, meat cooked well, peppers only added to the great taste and the bread was perfect and not soggy. The Baja fries were phenomenal and the kick from the jalapeño and spicy sauce was amazing. The fries didn't get soggy and plenty of chicken mixed with the rest of the toppings. The wings were spicy and fried well. They were not overly done or dry. The Chicago dog was loaded and again just delicious. We left full and happy. Some reviews say it is a bit pricy, but honestly it was sit down restaurant quality, good portions and the meals at a seasonal $13 or so. Not too bad in my opinion. All in all it was a great night and I am already thinking of...
Read moreMy brother suggested I try this place, so I stopped by for lunch. There were a few people waiting for their orders when I went in. Their menu is overwhelming at first. Lots of different items thoroughly described. Each item's description looked like it would be delicious! I ordered the chopped cheese combo, based on my brother's recommendation. While waiting, I spoke to a couple people who have been here a few times. One said the Baja Fries were her favorite. My brother raved about the parmesan fries. A few people came in to pick up their orders, assumed they called ahead. A Grub Hub driver also picked up an order. Yes, I waited a bit. But this is because the fare is made when you order it. Fresh! And the wait wasn't long. By the time my order was ready, the others who were in there had taken their orders and left, so I dined at one of the two 3-seat hightop bars. There are also two 2-seat tables, but one had a laptop setup on it. The other bar needed a wipe down. The sandwich was delicious! Just the right blend of American, cheddar, and angus chopped beef on a toasted hoagie bun with dill pickle, tomato and chopped lettuce - not too much lettuce, well balanced. The bread had just the right texture and the filling balanced with the bread nicely - not too much of either. The thin fries were hot and crispy and salted just right. The portion sizes are what one would expect. I am quite impressed and will return soon to try some more of their fare. They serve their fare in polystyrene containers, including cups. There is one size cup for soft drinks and a smaller cup for water. Drinks...
Read morei had the chix ceasar salad tonight. I never had anything like this. it had more than just romaine lettuce, chese and chicken. it had seasoned corn and the dressing was like a pesto liime-AMAZINGGGGAH !!! I removed the bell peppers due to my preference. Honestly, the conversation and the managers know customer service. It was the first time in a long time, where I could ask for something and the people in the establishment understood my accent and that I was from the East Coast-that staff had me on the floor. I got schooled with a history lesson about how my small state has 2 senators!! (dead-lol) and while I waited, I was treated as if my order was the most important order of the day!!
They know how to run a business. If you know the Burroughs, you getting VIP servce!!! the conversation is right up there with the food-they took me back. Only thing missing was a Cypher and lyrics from KRS-ONe of Boogie Down Productions trying to diss Boogie Down Bronx (if you are old school and from the East Coast, it will make sense to you). I love this place and have only been there 2x. it sadly is only open to 8pm but you have all day to experience the menu starting at 11am. i would go there again tonight to get dinner food, but I know better!! Best, new secret in this plaza and puts all the other sad fast food restaurants to shame!!! The prices are worth the portion sizes and the food quality-I know they are not skimping on anything, even with the price hikes for their staples. Next on my list is the Philly Cheese steak. Anissa the Picky Epicurean (by way of...
