My repeated experiences at Alex's Gyro Loco have been consistently subpar. Every order is a gamble; the food is frequently cold or prepared incorrectly.

​The most concerning issue, however, is the owner's unprofessional and dismissive attitude toward customer feedback. When attempting to address a cold or incorrect order, he immediately becomes defensive. His standard response, 'I'm not saying you're a liar but...' is then followed by a patronizing explanation for why the customer must be mistaken. This approach is simply unacceptable for a business owner.

​Finally, their offering of a Chicago-style hot dog is an insult to the name. A true Chicago dog is 'dragged through the garden' and loaded with specific toppings (mustard, bright green relish, onions, tomato, a pickle spear, sport peppers, and celery salt). Had a nice late lunch here today after work, the staff is super kind and appears to be family owned and operated which is always great to see. I got a Maxwell polish, some fries and a Carmel churro. Service was great everyone here was extremely kind and welcoming. Dining area was extremely clean not a dirty table or spot of dust in sight. I really enjoyed all of my food the fries were pretty good, whoever made the Maxwell knew what they were doing as the onions and the Polish were cooked to perfection. To be honest, I had very low expectations when I stopped here for lunch. I’m from Chicago and have eaten some of the best gyros on the south side. Everything here was on point. I ordered the double gyro plate. The meat was spicy, garlicky, and delicious. The homemade tzatziki sauce was fantastic. The fries were hot and crispy. I seldom eat fast food fries because they are usually undercooked, soggy,and cold. The place was immaculately clean. The service was fast. Gyros should never be bland.
