Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Perry

I don't typically write reviews but this time I feel compelled to do so. This Cracker Barrel has gone down hill with its service and food quality over the last 2-3 years. The wait times for food are over 30 minutes, terrible service, terrible food sometimes, wrong order or forgot to bring a side. The workers are always YELLING across the store to one another like crazy banshees' and you can hear the fighting and arguing in the back. Once I had to go inside to pick up my Togo order after waiting outside 10+ plus minutes. They refused to answer the phone so I had to go inside in my pj's. This past visit will be my last. This past visit my boyfriend and I came in on Saturday the 8th. The store doesn't close until 11. We walked in at 9:01. We waited over 5 minutes to be seated because the host was no where to be found. There were 5 workers standing around at the front doing absolutely nothing but talking amongst themselves. They never even acknowledged us. Another guest waiting for his Togo order actually had to walk into the kitchen to get someone to come out. The hostess came and we were seated. It took another 5 plus minutes for the server to arrive. It was an older woman named Darrell/Darnell. She brought our drinks and walked away with our order at 9:19. She was never seen again. Another young lady come by about 10 minutes after and asked did we get biscuits. Of course we didn't because the server never returned. She brought them out to us and we never saw her again either. We ordered breakfast food. Mamas pancake breakfast and the Strawberry Custard Bread. 2 things that should have come out very quickly. How long does it take to cut something from a pan and put it on a plate and make 2 pancakes??? At 9:50 we still had no food so we left. We were literally the only table there. How can it take 30 plus minutes for food when there's no hold up because there is no customers. No one said a word to us as we walked out the door. When we got to the parking lot low and be hold there was our server. In the car with another worker smoking cigars and having an alcoholic beverage. As we got in our car she told us to "have a good night" Ha! Then they both went inside. I'm assuming to see how big of a tip she thought she got. The audacity of her to say have a good night knowing she never came back to the table to even give us a drink refill. This place and the workers are complete trash!! How about just shut it down I can guarantee you the residents of Perry...

We were at this location about a week ago on our way home from a vacation in Florida. I have never had a bad waitress before at any of the CB locations until now. She was rude and pretty much ruined our evening. Wouldnt wait on us for the longest time. Another couple at a different table actually got up and requested a new waitress. She brought us drinks with no straws. We had to ask someone else. Then she brought the biscuit basket with no cutlery and no plates. She filled up my glass of diet coke with her hands backward and I was just waiting for it to fly all over the place, as she poured it from such a high distance. She also brought our food to us and set it on the table and didnt even say a word. At the end of the night, she apologized to us for her rudeness and told us her wages and how she was supposed to be done at 8 pm. but it was now after 9 and she wasnt going to be paid for her extra time plus she still had to clean her area. Her hrly wages shocked us! Come on CB, you can do better than this, Im sure. If someone is working over the time they are supposed to be here, then pay them! Plus pay your wait staff more than $2.13 per hour! Unless she was lying to us for our sympathy, that is a ridiculously low wage. We werent going to give her a tip at all but then after she chatted with us we felt sorry for her. I still dont know if we got dupped by this young lady. When we first arrived the hostess told us the wait would be between 20-25 minutes but we were called in 10, which was completely fine. We ordered our entrees and a mimosa and she said she would bring it after 12:30…. I ordered it right at 12:29 so she said she would come right back with it which again I understand rules are rules so there was no problem! But she never did come back to check on us or drop off the mimosa until the food was dropped off which was at 1:15…. I understand it was busy but everyone around us had their food dropped off first and we ordered something fairly simple, Chicken and Dumplings and French toast. Sadly the food was too cold for us to actually enjoy it and the server forgot our biscuits and I could never tell her becuz she never returned for another 10 minutes. We tried to look for a manager or at least another server to call her but no luck. I wish my bf would’ve taken a picture of the “french toast” becuz it was not good at all. It was literally just buttered toast! It was sooooo dry and cold !! When our server finally returned we told her we needed to place a togo order and she said she would come right back becuz she left her notepad and pen……and again didn’t return for another 10 minutes!! The whole experience was just not up to point and we ended up leaving upset. Again we wish we could’ve spoke to a manager or someone but it was a Sunday so it was just too busy. Hopefully next time...
