Empanadas Monumental — Restaurant in Perth Amboy

Atrocious!!! Ordered a variety of 3 empanadas 1 potato ball , absolutely disgusting, they were frozen not fresh after frying the center was still ice cold, the overwhelming tang of the meat and sour aftertaste was stomach turning, the establishments kitchen is In plain view hence I could see a male cook preparing food in the back , cross contaminating the prep area & using the same floor rag to clean prep counter without washing or rinsing rag before or after… definitely would not revisit the Lady at the helm was very nice but again the food is poorly prepared, cheap ingredients, the ground beef was more like soy and bitter just gross ,...

I've never experienced empanadas so bad, trying to get through 3/4 of the dough to get to the actual filling was bad enough. You may figure you might give them a pass if the filling was good, but unfortunately the taste was just as bad as the way they filled their empanadas. I'm not sure how they got such decent reviews on Doordarsh or Google but trust and believe there are substantially better empanadas within a 5 mile radius that would be worth traveling to vs eating at this place. if this was a one off chance I'm sorry but that first impression...

If I could give no stars I would .. I whole heartedly believe they gave me pork… when I asked for a cheesteak empanada .. the meat was sweet tangy and red and it was not beef! Left a crazy after taste in my mouth…. They didn’t even speak English and was using a translator which is totally fine but the dismissive behavior and lies when they know damn well that wasn’t beef is crazy!
