Fajji's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Perth Amboy

Happened upon this place about four years ago according to my google maps but recently revisited about two weeks ago and the ice cream here is still good. There is definitely new flavors I don't remember alongside some good ones I do. There list of ice cream seem way longer than I can recollect but its always good to have options so I am not complaining. There was also a list of ice just as long as the ice cream list to choose from too. I had the cake batter ice cream without any toppings for a simplistic approach but things like Oreos, cereal, candy toppings, and a few more items are yours for the choosing if that's what your heart desires. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised my initial visit which is why this place stayed in the back of my mind and I made this my first visit once I purchased my car. Yrs ago I came here but it was happened upon during a long trip home to ny from great adventures when my family and I rented a car to go to the park. I will admit the customer service here can be rushed and leave you with a lot to be desired but at times it can get crowded and their thing is to get everyone served and sent on their way. It functions the way that it is which is an ice cream stand. Take your time to read the menu, walk up to the window, know what you want, be payment ready, get your ice cream and scram. DELISH Some of the tastiest, decadent ice cream in Jersey. The cream base is absolutely on point. Velvety smooth creaminess and mouthfeel. The melt factor is just right - holds up for a while if you hold the cup on the edge ( and don’t transmit all the heat from your palm to the bowl). We were there late evening on a weekend and the guy serving us said he had been busy all evening. Very helpful guiding us thru the flavors and tasting. The chocolate tastes of an intense cocoa. Like a deep 70% dark chocolate hunting towards a milk chocolate. The butter pecan had ground pecans - different than all other chunky ones I’ve eaten so far. And you can taste the undertones of a mellow brown butter. Rum and raisin was not over powering nor too sweet. We also had the banana - I’m always skeptical of these fruit puree ones but the banana puree seemed folded in the cream base and the ice crystals from the frozen fruit were very fine and pleasant. Didn’t give that refrozen mouth feel. But the banana does not have that overly creamy texture like the others. Has a tropical fruity edge to it.

I had the peanut butter and jelly (GAVE US THAT WOW FACTOR!) the (cake batter phenomenal and addictive) and also the old school vanilla soft served with rainbow sprinkles THIS ICECREAM IS DELICIOUS the prices are not bad and The owner gives you a loyalty card after 10 orders you get one free which is unheard of today... Even has parking which I was shocked.... He has tables outside where you can sit down and enjoy with your family or friends...... Get it before all the high school kids that come out of Perth Amboy high eat up all his stock!!!!......
