It was our first time; four of us came on a Saturday for the live music. We were seated in the food service section, but the hostess stand advised us that we could go to the bar to ask questions and/or order too. We ordered food and non-alcoholic drinks with our server, however my father and I wanted to walk around and then speak with the bartender for their suggestions. My father and I ordered a beer each from the inside bar and came back to the table and sat back. Eventually the waiter noticed and came over looking irritated and said, "You know, you can order drinks with me." with a bit of attitude. We were surprised and apologized, and said that we didn't know, and we'll be mindful in the future. It made us a little uncomfortable as we thought we doing what was advised by other members of the staff. They kept coming around and checking on us often to see if we needed more drinks or food, but it was making us more and more uncomfortable so we didn't want to order anything else but just leave. The only stayed as long as we did because my father wanted to listen to the live music.
When they brought us the bill, they told us in a stronger and more aggressive tone that we shouldn't have gone and spoken to the bartenders and ordered ourselves but ordered from them. Which was incredibly unprofessional, in my opinion, as you've already chastised us once, and we genuinely apologized and that should have been the end of it. Furthermore, the tone and attitude was unwarranted, because we did not do it out of spite. It was a mistake, but we didn't want to order anything more because of how the waiter acted towards us, and at the end when we got the bill, we were glad we didn't.
When we left, the only reason we thought that they were so aggressive and insistent on the drink order is because of tip. We spent 18$ on the drinks before tip, which would have amounted to approx. $3.00 give or take. When I purchased my drink at the bar, I tipped. I didn't like what they were implying.
The rest of the experience: Band was good. Nachos were missing a fair amount of cheese, and heavily oversalted (some chips looked like sugar on churros with the amount of salt). But fresh chips were a nice touch. And the root beer float was really yummy. But was it enough to offset the horrible experience? NO.
We will definitely not be back until they've trained some of their staff to handle those situations better. Have them all on the same page for recommendations and information, and remind the staff that everyone, especially newcomers, may make mistakes and handle them politely and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been drinking Lagunitas beer for years and I was so excited to have a pint at the brewery. I wish that my first experience was exceptional but it was merely mediocre. I was with a group of friends and we all ordered drinks and food at the same time. The pints of beer came right away and we were excited that our food would arrive shortly. Our whole party got their food within 20 minutes and I was patiently waiting for mine. Another 15 minutes passed and my burger still did not arrive. Our waitress had not checked on our table for those 15 minutes and we called another waitress over to check on our order. She came back and said that my food was the next on the ticket and would be right out. Over the next 15 minutes saw at least 10 burgers get passed out to other patrons and my food was still not delivered. This other waitress clearly lied to us and didn't acknowledge that they messed up the orders. Again, another 15 minutes passed and our original waitress finally checked on us. I politely asked for a refund instead of getting my food since it had been an hour since I ordered it. She was going to check with a manager about this. She comes back and says all the managers are in a 6pm meeting and that I wouldn't be able to get a refund. Why are the managers in a 6pm meeting the day before a holiday weekend? My food finally arrived an hour after I ordered it, and 45 minutes after the others in my party received their food. I understand that food my be delivered at different times to patrons, but 45 minutes late is much too long. There was poor customer service, a waitress lied to us, and there was no refund to be given. We walked out of the restaurant disappointed. We sadly won't be returning to this establishment, it's not worth our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe hour wait in the sun was understand due to the current circumstances. Everything else was not. It's hot and sunny and no one came to ask if we wanted more water or another drink until we were done. Then when it came time to pay, she comes over and says sorry I ran your card twice, hands me a different bill for $101 when mine was $61 and a charge card slip for $56. I say I can just pay the balance on cash then she admits she charged my card twice and needs to talk to a manager. Meanwhile I check online and she charged me for the correct amount and then again for the incorrect amount. By the time I got to her and her manager they charged my card a third time!!! Turns out the first time she ran my card the paper didn't print out so she charged it again?! Why would that make sense and why woud the MANAGER run it a third time?! I then asked for a copy of the voided payments and I got "oh they don't print out" not only have I worked in the restaurant/bar industry my entire life, I WATCHED them print out. When I said it's fine and asked the manager for his name so if anything problems arise he said they won't. I said well if I have to call back I want to make sure someone knows. Again I got "we will all be here tomorrow" the waitress then said I can just ask for her and gave me her name. So now I have $200 worth of charges and I'll have to wait 48 hours for the refunds to go through and the manager can't even give me his name or apologize, let alone say listen we screwed up ROYALLY! here's a free beer on us....
