Big Dipper Ice Cream — Restaurant in Petersburg

I had gotten there 15 minutes before closing and there were two workers inside. They stared at us as we walked in. When we got inside we got no hellos, smiles and they were on their phones. I get we came before closing but we knew what we wanted and was making a small trip that wouldn’t last 5 minutes. A person in our group asked for vanilla soft serve and they said the machine was down. I have worked around the same machine they used inside the store and it was placed on “standby”, which means you have to flip a piece inside and press “auto”. It takes 20 seconds to flip the machine. They blatantly lied to our faces. Which would have been easier to serve than hand scooping ice cream. Imagine this, you want a before bed snack, you slip on your crocs and head to get some ice cream, oh what a delicious treat!!! You arrive at the ice cream shop 40 minutes before closing, the open sign is on and there were employees stirring inside, you pull the handle for the door, the employees snarl at you as the door jiggles but doesn’t open. This shop is pretty much awesome. They have a variety of hand scooped and soft serve ice cream. Some are aimed at adults while others are aimed at the kids. My Wife and children enjoyed their ice cream. My blue raspberry slushie was great. The variety is perfect. They're friendly. Their prices are friendly. If we lived in Petersburg we would likely frequent this place. It seems like a perfect small town...
