Wow!! Are we downtown Austin?? New York?? Hollywood?? I had a Cuban versión of combo fried rice with steak strip on top. Not even a full salad! Small little corner section of a to go plate salad! Essentially! $20 extra for the combo rice! When they say their special, it's not the lunch or dinner "cheap" or "reasonably priced" special it's the opposite. My own fault for asking what their special was and not asking the price, but two plates coming out to nearly $75?!! From a food truck in Pville??!! Come on now! Ouch! Good, but over-priced food. If this was indoors and served by waiter/waitress and was a Cuban versión of Fonda San Miguel vibes I'd understand, but outside wooden bench in dusty parking lot?? No! We bought a meal of roasted pork. It comes with skin, yucca, salad and congris rice. We are three adults. We ate of one plate and took home for tomorrow’s lunch. The pork was tender and tasty, the pork skin was crunchy and everything was delicious. We had a cortadito coffee. Everything cooked to perfection and delicious. Desde la primera vez que probé la comida de este lugar supe que no sería la última… es de esas experiencias que te dejan marcado, donde el sabor no solo se queda en la boca, sino también en el corazón. ¡Y hoy no fue la excepción!

Un arroz amarillo perfectamente sazonado, con trocitos de bacon que explotan en cada bocado, combinado con vegetales frescos que le daban un toque de color y vida al plato… sencillamente un espectáculo. Y para coronarlo, un bistec de res encebollado, jugoso, bien elaborado, con esas cebollitas que se deshacen y se mezclan con la carne creando una combinación mágica.

No pude evitar repetir, porque aquí no se trata solo de comida, es un pedacito de Cuba servido con amor y tradición. Sin duda, uno de esos lugares donde siempre quieres volver… una y otra vez. ¡Gracias por regalarme ese...
