After sending an email to contact the managers and/or owners privately about my experience, they responded with "I disagree with everything you said here"
So now instead of keeping it private so they could hopefully learn from their mistakes, I will now display the entire interaction publicly:
I was going to let this morning's experience go, but the more I think about it, the more annoyed I get.
I arrived at the Bratton location and after waiting for the person in front of me to order, I told the perfectly pleasant girl at the register that I was there to pick up an uber delivery. She checked around and told me that it would be just a minute while they finished the 2nd drink.
While I waited, I noticed how one employee, an older man (I won't say "gentleman," because nothing about his demeanor was gentlemanly) who was the only one wearing a red "wells branch" t-shirt was speaking to his his employees. He was very condescending with his coaching which was bordering on rudeness/bullying.
After 5 minutes of waiting, I canceled the order on my app because I also had someone else waiting for their order from a different business, and I wasn't going to make them wait any longer than they already had. As I got up to leave, the red-shirted man asked if I was picking up an order. I told him "it's taken too long; I've canceled the order and someone else will pick it up." Instead of apologizing or -i don't know- not saying anything, his immediate reply was "well I'm going to report you to uber!"
I cocked my head but didn't say another word as I left. As I was getting in my car, he followed me outside(!!!) to shout that the order was ready. I told him someone else would pick it up (remember - I had canceled the order on my end, so if I had taken it from him at this point, it would have been theft) and drove off.
This man was beyond my limits of imagination as to how unprofessional someone representing a business could be to a complete stranger. And I would wager that it never crossed his mind that he could be speaking to not just a delivery driver, but a past customer. Maybe even a regular. Someone who used to stop at different locations in the area. Someone who recommended Malone's coffee and reasonably priced light sandwiches to family, friends, coworkers.
Someone who will never ever step foot inside another Malone's - as a driver OR as a customer. Someone who will never again recommend Malone's.
To whoever reads this: have a nice day.
To the guy this email is about: thanks for ruining my morning and my former favorite local...
Read moreI hate giving out bad reviews, but this was necessary. Me and my friend arenât from austin, we were coming from out of town. When we came in we were looking at the menu because we didnt know what to get. Two girls came up to the counter asking if they could help us and I said âim sorry weâre still lookingâ very apologetic. And they just stood there staring. When we finally started to order I got the bagel. But one of the girls kept looking at me weird. And my friend didnt know which coffee to try so she asked what was the best one or the most recommended. The girl who kept looking at me weird told her the two ârecommended onesâ and my friend thought she just recommended one. So my friend said âokay ill have that oneâ. The other girl said âwhich oneâ very ugly. Then the other girl said âI said two different onesâ in an even uglier tone. Whatever. We paid and when we went to sit down we heard the girls whispering and laughing. We sat for like three minutes maybe, waiting for our food and when they called our name, I went to grab our food. One of the girls said âewâ and laughed as we walked by them. Im honestly not too sure what we did wrong. We were very kind to them regardless of how they treated us. It was a very crappy experience considering it was my first time getting coffee in austin. Food was amazing, loved the bagel. Coffee was great. But the service was just horrible. Ive never felt so out of place in a business let alone a small coffee shop. I think Ive felt more comfortable inside of a walmart at 9pm. Again, not sure what we did wrong. Maybe it was how we dressed, maybe it was the fact that we werent white. I...

When I was finally acknowledged I stepped up and ordered, paid and stood by the counter for a little while. Then another guy comes in and he's greeted immediately, they're chatting with him and telling him about a punch card they have for every time you come in... I was not greeted like that at all and I certainly wasn't told about the punch card, they made his coffee within a minute but it was a simple coffee. It was taking longer than expected especially when the place wasn't crowded at all, but I figured they might of had a lot of online orders. So at sat down. By minute 20 I was getting impatient, so I stood back up and went back to the counter. I was starting to get weird looks from the workers, until one of them asked if I needed to be helped. I told them I was waiting for my drink, the VERY SAME GUY who took my order asked me if I called in my order... I told him I had ordered in house, he asked me who took my order... THIS IS THE SAME GUY WHO I ORDERED FROM. I explained that I ordered from him. He looked lost. I was FORGOTTEN. I was about to ask for a refund but I figured it be a longer process than actually making the coffee, and I just wanted to get to work. I had to basically reorder, and the coffee was made in 3 minutes... I'm not sure what made me so forgettable to the staff there, but I can guarantee you I'll never take my business to this location again. First, and last time...
