Gloucester Premium Outlet Barkley’s BBQ Food Truck review. This is my 3rd time visiting this Barkley’s. 1st time they ran out of ribs. That’s a good and bad thing. Made me want to try them out. So when I was in heading back from AC I said let me stop and get some ribs. Order 1/2 slab for $22 including tax. There were 6 bones. One which was really small. They were really good, gave 1/2 to my wife and she enjoyed them as well. I give that visit 4 stars. This time on 8/31/23 I had off work and drove about 25 minutes to get some ribs and do some shopping. This time no bueno. They were not good this time. The were smoked but seemed undercooked. No sear or char on the ribs. They were also very short and fat, and fatty. Very disappointed. I give the food on this visit 2 stars. Note to owner, I would suggest not serving ribs of this quality. They were not good at all. I thought about complaining and returning but I didn’t want to be that guy. Overall I give the Food truck 3 Stars. Not sure If I would recommend them. Not sure if I would go back especially If I have a taste for BBQ. Still looking for the spot in the Philly area. Thought they were it. But they are not. One this day they were busy. I may have got a bad batch of ribs. I would say give them a try but temper your...
Read moreIf not for the ribs i had the 1st visit id. rate a 1 star. I Decided to try the chicken this time. After waiting about 20 min im called to get my order. I go right to the table to eat and it was obvious the chicken was not freshly cooked. It was luke warm and did not taste at all like it was cooked on the charcoal grill. Also the greens were also luke warm and the mac & cheese was just noodles with a Lil bit of cheese. I took it back to the truck to tell the cook and the cashier comes over with her thermometer and rudly says this chicken is not cold! I responded it is clearly not fresh off the grill hot for sure! She takes the meal from her cook, didn't offer to remake it and just handed me a partial refund. For me service is everything..im not sure which was worse, those steroid injected oversized non grilled pieces of chicken or the cashiers attitude but they will not get another...
Read moreIn my humble opinion, Tank is serving up some of the best bbq in the tristate. I ordered the ribs, barbecue chicken quarters, macaroni n cheese, and the collard greens.
I went to the food truck location at the Gloucester Premium Outlets.
The smoke coming off that grill was HEAVENLY. The ribs were nice, meaty, and tender - the bbq sauce on top was sticky and sweet. I needed a moment alone with my platter when I got home.
The bbq chicken was juicy and the skin was cooked perfectly, a beautiful char.
There’s only two places I get mac n cheese from - My mama’s kitchen and my own. Now…..there’s three. I am very picky about my macaroni and cheese, but Barkley’s BBQ nailed it perfectly. Straight up home cooked deliciousness.
I ate it so fast, I didn’t even...
