A diamond in the rough...a true hidden gem. This place is pumping out some of the best hoagies and hot sammiches in all of Philadelphia. Tucked on the corner of an unassuming neighborhood, this sandwich shop does not focus on flash. When you enter it reminds you of your childhood corner store deli; with rare candies and sodas and copious amounts of chips to pair with your sandwich. The owner, Foos and his wife focus on delivering high quality ingredients and masterful proportions stuffed inside a perfect seeded Licious roll, to give you a perfect bite, every bite, throughout the whole hoagie. I have yet to have a bad sammy, but the best sandwiches are the Old World Italian, Roast Pork Italianna, and anything with their fresh made chicken cutlets. (Their homemade potato and macaroni salads are no slouch either). Even in a city radiating with great food, Chubby's stands in a league of their own. When you're in the area it's a must stop, but even if you live in South Philly it's...
Read moreBest hoagie spot I’ve ever been to. Let alone, best hoagie spot in Philly! Anybody who has written a bad review about this place, either hasn’t had the food or doesn’t know what a good sandwich is. This is the undisputed king of the best hoagie sandwich you will possibly get around. And this guy doesn’t price gouge like everywhere else does. You’re not going to pay $18 a sandwich here like auto shops that Rob you do. Also, he has the best chicken cutlets I’ve ever had. Amazing potato salad, too, and a great selection of candy and drinks and chips. Support local businesses like this! They are the staple to communities, and they serve the best food!
UPDATE: they are firing out some amazing specials right now with their cutlet sandwiches, just had the Popeye sandwich and it was phenomenal. Literally one of the best sandwiches...

Wasn’t in the mood for a steak (I know, I know…don’t crucify me) and I found Chubby’s Fox Chase Deli on a google search based on where I was near and stopped in. The woman and man working were very nice. The shop is a tiny corner store with no seating so plan to grab and go.
Got the “Turkey Italiana” which was turkey breast with sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, and garlic mayo on a seeded Liscio’s roll (they had unseeded too if that’s your vibe). This sandwich was excellent, I’m so happy I made this choice today. If you’re up in the Northeast area and feeling a hoagie…this one is a winner. Absolutely...
