Hey Good People,

So I would like to say I love supporting Black owned businesses especially ones with a good mission. I love Down Norf pizza and mission but the quality of service needs to tighten up. Now I’ve been a frequent customer for some time now because again, I enjoy the food, but what I don’t appreciate is the lack of customer service. I called and placed my order at 6:31 for a single pizza and they told me 20 minutes. I arrive at 7pm to only come inside and to be told 6 more minutes which turned into 20 minutes. After waiting an additional 20 minutes they still asked for 3 more minutes which really was about 5 more. They handed me my pizza with no apology for the wait, no explanation for the wait, nor offering anything complimentary for the wait. Waiting up to an hour for a pizza with the constant deception is unacceptable especially when you value your customers. Customer service will take you far snd being honest about the wait time up front gives customers the choice on whether or not they want to wait for food especially after a long work day or whatever. Be more courteous that’s all I ask from a person who enjoys the pizza and defend why I choose to spend x amount of money on this particular establishment pizza because of the mission. Being courteous doesn’t take much and again, goes a long way. Acknowledging your error goes a long way. Being upfront on the phone with a customer with the wait time ahead of time and putting the choice in their hands goes a long way. And on top of that, my pizza was cold 🤨😩. I really hope my people can get it better. Hope this review helps and bring about real growth in that area because as I initially stated, the pizza is good but the customer service is unfortunately, still in chains ⛓️

Happy eating...

I recently had the opportunity to try Down North Pizza at the Roots Picnic event, and my experience left me with mixed feelings. The standout feature of this establishment is their commendable business practice of supporting former felons and aiding in their rehabilitation, which is truly inspiring and praiseworthy.

As for the food itself, I found the pizza to be decent but not exceptional. The crust had a nice crispness to it, and there was certainly no shortage of cheese topping the pie. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps the taste was compromised due to the festival setting. The bustling environment and quick preparation times at such events can sometimes affect the overall quality of the food served.

Despite my reservations about the taste during the festival, I am intrigued enough by Down North Pizza's mission and potential that I plan to visit their actual location in Philly when I return to the city. I believe that trying their pizza in a more controlled environment will provide a better basis for comparison and a more accurate assessment of their offerings.

In conclusion, while my initial experience at Down North Pizza at Roots Picnic was somewhat underwhelming in terms of taste, I am willing to give them another chance at their brick-and-mortar location. The combination of their positive social impact and the potential for delicious pizza makes them a place...

Uptown vibes vegan pizza was good, The crust was square deep dish chicago style, very good sauce. tons of cheese didn’t really taste the kale nevertheless, spot on! little on the expensive side. Thai cauliflower wings , perfectly done, tender on the inside crispy tempura batter on the outside very good sauce Spicy crab fries need work no crab flavor, kale was there but lacking flavor, plenty of cheese on fries, cheese was cold and the fries were little bit dry and cold. The Fries are overpriced, thicker cut fries would be better. The blueberry lemonade and a cucumber, mint lemonade a perfect combo with the pizza This is a very nice place for takeout. The decor is right on with the whole mission. I read a chapter of the book while I was there Muhammad is inspiring. I think it’s admirable the way they give back to the community. Hope that they will get some sit down seating in the future currently it has barstool and counter seating, would love to see some outdoor seating. Overall a nice experience, reason for four star atmosphere was a little bit loud hard to talk to my friend. And as far as the food goes a little bit pricey overall, that’s just a personal opinion if it works for them that’s all that matters definitely...
