Not sure why we went inside once we saw the place- probably because you could tell from the older signage that there's some history. Once we pushed past the plastered cigarette, beer and lottery ads, we we didn't regret a thing. Menu taped to the counter listed "The Works" Cheesesteak. When in Rome... We sat at one of the four booths and the cooks put on quite a show- working hard chopping the steak, and using the slicer to get a fresh pile of corned beef for my son's sandwich. Read moreFalones is such a goood place for cheesesteaks! I stumbled upon it with my family who was in town visiting me from Louisiana and Houston in 2010. I ate the chicken cheesesteak for the 1st time and have not turmed back! The original cheesesteaks are also so good I'm just not too mich of a beef eater. Since, I've had other family and friends from New Orleans, Atlanta, Dallas, upstate NY and most recently from East Africa. All love it! They come literally to expect it when they come to town or on the plane with them going back home. My nephew told all his friends in his barracks in the army in NY....If you've not had it, it is a must eat and one of the best I've had in Philadelphia! Thank you for your fresh shredded and tasty steaks and great service to the Falone management...
Read moreI went here while staying at a near by hotel prior to flying out for Vacation. Seen that Philadelphia is known for "Philly Cheese Steak" I ordered here. Well, As I drove to pick up our food, We found that parking is very hard! Then walking to Falones from my cat the Side walk was covered with trash, broken bottles, etc. As I walked in, there was a HORRIBLE odor of MARIJUANA! FLYS flying all over especially around where the food was being prepared. There was a lady cooking and an older man checking out ppl. I get back to my hotel to eat, and couldn't! Just the thought of FLYS etc.. it made me very nauseous! THIS STORE/RESTAURANT is very DIRTY! I WOULD NEVER COME BACK AND NEVER TELL ANYONE TO GO THERE! BIG NO NO! This place needs to be shutdown ASAP!...
