Update 28 July 2019 Couldn't make a stop in Philly without the real deal. Again, the cheese steak was on point, to no surprise. I'm definitely gonna have the itis on my trip to Jersey. If you're looking for a Philly Cheese Steak, look nowhere else. ----- Stopped by here on a whim after a long flight from Hawaii, and the cheesesteak did not disappoint. There's nothing fancy about this place, but who needs fancy when great food and a very personable staff are your cornerstones? I'll be stopping by here every time I'm in the area. Great job, guys!

Went here based on the reviews and it is not what it was made up to be. First - this place is a dive. Half the store is the kitchen and the other half is a beer cooler that serves a lot of 20's to patrons staggering in off the street. There are 5 laminate booths and two are taken up with boxes of merchandise. The cheesesteak is ok. Not a lot of meat but the roll is good. The fries are alright. Also, this is a pretty shady area of town. Keep your eyes open.

Absolutely one of the best places in Philly to get a cheesesteak!!!!! Friendly service and loads of choices of beer to choose from. Personal recommendations are the "The Works" cheesesteak or the mushroom cheesesteak with a order of fries.

Not sure why we went inside once we saw the place- probably because you could tell from the older signage that there's some history. Once we pushed past the plastered cigarette, beer and lottery ads, we we didn't regret a thing. Menu taped to the counter listed "The Works" Cheesesteak. When in Rome... We sat at one of the four booths and the cooks put on quite a show- working hard chopping the steak, and using the slicer to get a fresh pile of corned beef for my son's sandwich. They brought the food to us, a sign of nice service in a carry-out. At this point I discovered "The works" is a regular steak on decently fresh hoagie roll, with the sliced american chopped in along with hot cherry peppers so the flavors of both permeate the meat, then topped with Ketchup, Mustard and big pickle slices. None of those last 3 have I ever put on a cheesesteak individually, let alone together, but it was actually really good, leaning a bit toward a cheeseburger sub. Asked a few Philly natives and none had heard of the combo, so it must be a neighbohood or house specialty. The core taste was really really good, and huge for the $8 price. I think we got some giggles from the staff based on our obvious fish-out-of-water vibe in this neighborhood, but after that they were super professional, friendly and polite. If you're ready to get out of your comfort zone, I...

Falones is such a goood place for cheesesteaks! I stumbled upon it with my family who was in town visiting me from Louisiana and Houston in 2010. I ate the chicken cheesesteak for the 1st time and have not turmed back! The original cheesesteaks are also so good I'm just not too mich of a beef eater. Since, I've had other family and friends from New Orleans, Atlanta, Dallas, upstate NY and most recently from East Africa. All love it! They come literally to expect it when they come to town or on the plane with them going back home. My nephew told all his friends in his barracks in the army in NY....If you've not had it, it is a must eat and one of the best I've had in Philadelphia! Thank you for your fresh shredded and tasty steaks and great service to the Falone management...

I went here while staying at a near by hotel prior to flying out for Vacation. Seen that Philadelphia is known for "Philly Cheese Steak" I ordered here. Well, As I drove to pick up our food, We found that parking is very hard! Then walking to Falones from my cat the Side walk was covered with trash, broken bottles, etc. As I walked in, there was a HORRIBLE odor of MARIJUANA! FLYS flying all over especially around where the food was being prepared. There was a lady cooking and an older man checking out ppl. I get back to my hotel to eat, and couldn't! Just the thought of FLYS etc.. it made me very nauseous! THIS STORE/RESTAURANT is very DIRTY! I WOULD NEVER COME BACK AND NEVER TELL ANYONE TO GO THERE! BIG NO NO! This place needs to be shutdown ASAP!...
