Edit: Have to say it seems the quality has slipped. Second straight meal I've had at Maggie's recently that just wasn't very good. I held off after the first meal hoping the second would be better but unfortunately it wasn't. The crab cake sandwich was just terrible. Dry and it had a terrible fishy taste to it and not in a good way. Also after just a few bites there was a crunching of a hard substance not filler possibly a shell grinded up I don't know but it was just awful. I don't think I'll be going back. The outside seating is great and the server was fantastic but the food just wasn't good at all.
The food is consistently averaged to good. I've never had anything that I would call great. Good bar food good comfort food. The one complaint that I have and that I will vocalize next time I go is that they tend to rush the food out. I always split the Maggie's sampler with whoever I go with and it's even gotten to the point where I won't order my main course until the sampler hits the table and yet still they bring out the main course while we're still working on the sampler. next time I will communicate to hold off on the main dishes but I don't feel like I should have to this doesn't happen to me at any other restaurant. I don't like having my main course sitting there getting cold and I don't like having to rush right into my dinner without having enjoyed the appetizers first. It's my belief that any server should realize when to put in for the main courses if they pay attention to what you're eating...
Read moreFood is great and service, only reason not 5 stars is the moronic discount policy on Mondays. We had a photo of my significant others nursing ID and they said that they needed the physical card. The ID literally had a photo of her on it and they still refused to take it? I can understand that the discount is great and some people might try to abuse it, but why does the requirement to have it on your person matter? Do you scan the ID? Do you call the hospital or center where the person claims to work at? They need to have a better way of ensuring that people who are eligible for the discount get it! Also, I think that discount used to cover teachers? What happened to that!!
Updated: A response saying that it is easy to photoshop an ID but somehow thinks that it is not just as easy to fake a physical ID doesn't make sense. Also, I said the policy was moronic and not anyone at Maggies. We enjoy Maggies, the food and service are always great, and so is the discount offered. If you wanted to ensure only people eligible for the discount get it then you could also accept digital forms that ensure someone is eligible for it. ID.me does that very well. Also were teachers ever included in this discount? I think I remember it being that way, but unsure. I appreciate the response, but wish that descretion was used when making this determination. Also, if you do require physical ID then why not just put in the marketing materials, then there would be no question and patrons would...
Read moreIn close proximity to family, Maggie’s is one of my favorite places to eat. And it’s a great place for any occasion. The first time we went there it was for appetizers after dropping the kids off at my in-laws. Then we were there for a 21st birthday party. Then we went there with family for dinner. They have nights with live bands, several TVs for sports, and banquet hall space upstairs for baby showers and more.
Even with reservations, there was a 15 minute wait, but it was worth it. The burgers are amazing! They just melt in your mouth! And the fries are famous for a reason. My kids say they are contenders for any fast food they have had, and that’s saying a lot coming from them. And the seafood - I always get something with seafood and have never been disappointed. I have actually never ordered drinks there, but they look good!
The staff is very friendly, helpful, and prompt.
I highly recommend Maggie’s if you are looking for a place to hang out with friends or family or just a date night. It’s also on my list if I ever need a spot for an...
