More Life? More flavor. More vibes. More everything. I tried More Life in Germantown and it was a flavor explosion! The vegan brownstew fish platter was pure deliciousness. I highly recommend this Black-owned gem! #veganeats #jamaicanfood #veganvibes #naturalherbs #morelife #plantbased #germantown #philly #foodieadventure #herbalist #vegancommunity #fyp

Another delicious food find this was near the Olney section of Philadelphia, right smack dab in the neighborhood lots of residential housing. This is not a sitdown restaurant. This is more of a corner store. That being said walking in you must be buzzed in as they have a secure door with the camera. I’ve lived in the inner city most of my life so I’m quite used to that. The lady that welcome us in was very nice and wow what an incredible selection of teas, powdered herbs in spices, dried fruits, dried roots, probably the largest selection that I’ve seen anywhere you’ll see in the pictures. This is a takeout restaurant and they prepare everything from scratch. We did not mind waiting a little while because most every place that you go to that does things like this you’re gonna find great food. This place is fantastic as far as the food went, we ordered Jamaican brown stewed vegan chicken with forbidden rice, plantains, with some greens as a garnish we got the same platter also with brown stewed tofu, both of these were done perfectly. The vegan stewed chicken was incredibly tender. The sauce was made just right it had such a great brown gravy taste to it, and it was seasoned enough so when you combined it with the rice it made for a nice comfort type food dish. The portions were fairly large so eating an entire dish would be a feet in itself so we ended up taking half of each home. We also ordered two spinach Jamaican patties and one Jamaican patty. They were so hot and fresh not deep-fried. They were baked and they were excellent and to wash all of this down. We got two freshly made pressed juices. You’ll see the pictures have the descriptions, both each had ginger in them very strong yet at the same time both were very refreshing so drinking these drinks along with eating the food that was a little bit heavy but still healthy made for a great combination. You will not go wrong with this food. It is excellent. The neighborhood may be a little challenging and it can be hard to find parking, but it is worth it. What a great find in this place lots of history of some great Jamaican folk folks on the walls.

I wish I could come here all the time. In fact I wish the owner would teach me because I would love to cook like this everyday. I have been vegan for 9 years and finding a meal that makes you feel so good, is so hard. My family is Ghanaian and Jamaican and I went to a funeral in Philly, everyone had the traditional dishes and I ate salad. After we left I wanted my cultural food without the animal products and I found this gem on the way back home to Maryland. I will literally come to Philly just to eat here, Jamaican vegan done right ITAL!!! I will be back, I loved the food!!!! Thank you!!!!

OMG y'all...in searching for a vegan restaurant near me this restaurant came up, actually I found it on the Happy Cow website. Other than it being close by, the reviews regarding the food and the energy of the owner intrigued me. I went too late the 1st time and he closed a little early, understandable...it was a Sunday. Next day couldn't shake wanting to give it a try, and just made it before he closed. Ordered the brown stew "chicken", got my son the same and a starfruit, pineapple, ginger juice. The owner and chef said that I would enjoy it...and I sure did!! One reviewer said it was tasteless...What?!? No, no, no my friend....it was deliciousness and perfection in a to go box! And the wild rice, quinoa and 3rd grain (not sure what the 3rd grain was but want to find out) combination was so good. And of course the juice was also great. Now, I must admit that a little more of the brown stew and veggies would've made it even more perfect. It was a little bit of a splurge for me...keeping in mind, I could actually eat this food multiple time a week! For real! I mean, I wanted to go back for more tonight! No doubt, I will be back for the brown stew and to try other dishes on the menu for sure. I love that he is in the neighborhood. Thank you for making this healthy, tasty vegan nourishment accessible to the...

Food is subpar. Edible.. but definitely something I can whip up better at home for half the price! $23 for a chickpea lentil wrap that looked like poop wrapped in a green tortilla.. and soggy fried plantains? Bad quality. No wonder when I asked him how this store been here, he said 3 years and I never heard of More Life. Because the food is trash and the way he runs the shop makes no sense! It’s a very weird energy in the there. First off, the owner keeps the door locked. So if you wanna come in you have to ring the buzzer.. Who does that? Fear based thinking. That’s the second Jamaican food spot I went to and they do that weird mess. It makes me not even want to support like uhhhh do you even want customers coming?? You literally make it hard to get inside the establishment.. I had to ask the man are you open??? Not to mention he uses a lot of SOY in the food. Telling black people soy is good for them is WRONG. It’s extremely harmful to the body....
