UPTOWN SEAFOOD — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Friend touted Uptown Seafood $ shrimp promo, so I decided to give them a play since I was up in G’town. Came on wrong day of promo but placed orders anyway! Highly disappointed! Placed $70 shrimp take out order. On my way home, thought I’d do a quick taste test & order was wrong , missing FF. Called gave US a heads up that order was missing FF & was coming back to pick them. Person on phone seemed confused & couldn’t grasp what I was saying. ( I get it’s a restaurant & they take a lot of calls) instead of saying ok, I’ll be happy to review order when you get here. She went through this whole math calculation of order..but her math was incorrect. Frustrated bc food now getting cold, missing food I returned to restaurant. Asked to speak w/owner M. Dodd he wasn’t in . M.Dodd you need to do a better job w/service. Btw, most seafood “take outs” offer 1st order of cocktail complimentary.

I wanted to support a black owned business and this was the one I set my sights on, I tell you I wish I never had. Ordered two alaskan crab platters well before closing and when I received my food from Uber Eats I only had two clusters of crab without any sides.

I reached out to the restaurant to explain what happened with my order. I was told the Uber driver had taken my food and that they check every order before it leaves the shop to make sure it is correct. In my bag that was sealed shut with my name on it was only those two clusters. Was told nothing could be done and to contact Uber for my refund. Absolutely terrible...

I live directly across the street and will never eat their food....they used to let you walk in the place and that's when you can smell how bad the food is.....the whole place smells like bad seafood ,which means it's bad seafood and . I can tell the Customer Service sucks because everyone that walking in there looks mad and upset.....lol.....this is why sometimes you can't support black own business....they need Customer...
