I lived in this zip code for 20 years. We stopped here because we tried three other places in 19115 to get cheesesteaks (because my old favorite place burned a few years ago) but they were either closed or had horrible parking.

It has been 15 years since I last ate there. We ordered two cheesesteaks and 2 bottles of soda for $29.

As we were traveling, we also needed to use their bathroom. There was no marked Women's bathroom, door acrooss from Men's was locked, and toilet paper was stacked on the sink counter....more than 8' away from toilet in a not very clean Men's room.

Thankfully, I noticed and grabbed some before using the bathroom.

Husband noted nasty smell in same hallway. I must have unconsciously held my breath for the duration.

Shift change for cash register staff happened and husband initiated search for our food after waiting inside for 15 minutes. They'd made it and bagged it, placing it atop their stove without ever calling out to ask if he was waiting for it.

Sandwiches were wonderfully hot and were good but not spectacular nor particularly memorable.

Will probably look elsewhere for our cheesesteaks next time we're...

Always great food and good service!

Went again last night. Was expecting great food and great service.

Our waiteesw was nice but didn't mention that the specials on the back of the menu are good for all day messing my one friend only got cupsc with her cheese steak. Most inportanimp, the food was terrible!!!

Also, everything came out separately!!

My buffalo wings were the smallest skimpiest ones I've ever had in my life and while doing in sauce not even spicy (I did request hot).

My friend's cheese steak was clearly inferior beef. You could see the water dripping from her sandwich. I come from the food industry and know a lot about cheese steak meat. I can guarantee you that was not the usual loin tail product. It was certainly a cheaper more highly marinated beef priduct.

The only one of the three of us satisfied with his enter was my friend who got the meatball grinder.

Based on this experience, I will not go back .I know there were many other great meals enjoyed there but it's evident the owners are cuttng costs by switching out their usual higher quality meats for the cheaper ones.

Goodbye...

Don't get me wrong, the food is not bad. The reason I am giving two stars is because of their family specials that they offer on their menu. We've ordered family special #1 before with no issues till recently. We tried once, months back, and apparently their system was having issues so it wouldn't ring up or honor the special. We just tried to order this special again and was told that the system doesn't work when they ring up special #1 or #4. So instead of trying to figure something out on their end for the inconvenience why not take the specials off the menu if your "system" can't ring them up without having "issues". Every time we get our order the menu is the same with the same specials. If the menu is going to stay the same, then honestly you should still honor whatever is offered on there and figure out the pricing on your end since it doesn't seem a top priority...

It’s a very nice pizza shop. My girlfriends family has been going here since she was in day care (~over 14 years). They know them by name and are very friendly and have great customer service. The food is very good too! They know the family’s order pretty well too since they come fairly often. We always have to order food to go if a family member isn’t with us. If we don’t it becomes a huge problem if they found out we went without them. From their soup, pizza, strombolis, fries, onion rings, gyros, cheese steaks, everything is just always all around good. Suggest both dinning in and taking out/delivery.

I got to Original Village Pizza in Philadelphia a little bit before they opened and had a seat. From that moment their phone did not stop ringing the entire time I was waiting to order, I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered a Chicken Cheesesteak with hot peppers and marinara on the side and french fries. Simply delicious. Honestly their marinara is the best I've ever tasted. It had a thicker consistency then most places meaning they put a lot of love into it and a hint of heat that you don't normally find. Bravo Original Village Pizza, Bravo!

New owners with new but HORRIBLE food. Expect cheap ingredients and awful-tasting recipes. The staff is fast and friendly but the food is what counts. You should have kept the old business model. I would take any lowly fast food restaurant over this slime pit. You would be better off buying frozen dinners for a fraction of the price. The frozen food will taste better and be fresher! I think the joint's new name is "Village Pizza" versus the old "Original Village Pizza", but the food was so bad that I did not even bother to remember, LOL.
