Passage Restaurant — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Horrible-horrible service and business! I was planning my baby shower at this restaurant, invited 15 people. 3 weeks in advance left deposit in the restaurant and picked out the menu. Not the easiest thing to do when you are 8 months pregnant. Few days before event restaurant called to confirm and discuss more details. Everything is set, happy mommy to be is waiting for event with most high hopes. Saturday 2pm. (Everything was planned for Sunday) I’m receiving a call from owner of the restaurant only to her that unfortunately she has a bigger party and she can’t fit my guests in.!!!! Can you imagine how shocked I am?!!! Few hours before day is over she is telling me to go find a different place for my baby shower?!! And since I only have 15 people she is telling me ‘So just call all your guest back, please. It’s not a big deal’ Excuse me?!!!! Where were you 3 days ago?! 2 days ago? Or even this morning?!!! Telling me at 2 pm before the event day that you accepted a bigger party over me?! How about my reservation?? How about my deposit? If that’s an issue she can give me my deposit back!! Well, duuuuh?! What did you want to not host my event and keep the deposit or what?! I’m on the phone next couple of house trying to find a place what would accept a party reservation on such a short notice. Luckily Lanjeron restaurant was there to help and assured me that they will not let me down. And they didn’t. They were shocked to hear about my story as well. That 8 months prego had to go through all that stress just to plan a simple event!!! Would never use this restaurant again and advise you to think twice before you want to do any kind of business with them. Just HORRIBLE! 0 stars if I could do that! Could be good food, idk. We recently gathered at Passage immediately after my father’s funeral for a memorial dinner (pominki), as is the custom in Russian Jewish families. The team at Passage, especially Oksana, were so kind, warm, and accommodating beyond belief. They streamlined the experience as much as possible and took as much stress as they could off our plates. They also allowed us to play a slideshow of photos that I put together to remember Dad while we all gathered to trade stories and our friends and family offered their condolences.

In addition, the food was delicious and a great combination of appetizers, mains, and dessert. We brought so much of it home afterward because the tables were practically overflowing with food.

Though we were there for an admittedly heartbreaking occasion, we will certainly be back for happier times...

Pani Oksana, thank you so much for your care and kindness! We feel so fortunate to have celebrated both our engagement party and birthday party at Passage. You and your team truly made this night unforgettable for us, our family, and friends.

From allowing us to drop off our cakes early, to welcoming our decorators hours in advance, every detail was handled with such flexibility and thoughtfulness. The ambiance, the music, and the overall atmosphere were phenomenal. And the food—absolutely deserving of an Oscar! Every dish was cooked with so much love. ❤️
