I ordered from this establishment through instacart ubereats app. I had a $10.00 credit for spending $40.00+ with instacart on groceries. I placed my order of two whole chickens and sauce on the side for each order today christmas eve. When my driver from ubereats delivered my order everything was fine until I went in my apartment and opened my order. I had one half chicken in each container with a container of bbq sauce in each order. Called ribs r us and was asked my name address and phone number. I know he had to be looking at my order once I gave him my name, etc. The guy on the phone told me don't touch anything someone from their establishment would deliver my whole chicken, look over my order in person and give me my missing whole chicken if my order had not been touched. After 10 minutes I received a call from someone name Luther telling me I would have to go through ubereats. He also pretended as if once your ubereats order leaves their establishment they are not able to see what you ordered. Luther mentioned I needed to call ubereats which I did after I hung up from him. They no longer take phone calls and you have to use the app. On the app my order doesn't show up because I went through instacart. No problem so now I go to the instacart app then to restaurant orders followed step by step about food items missing from my order but when I reached the final step the app would not let me upload the photo of the one half chicken with bbq sauce on the side for each order. I then tried calling instacart but no answer. Moral of this review I am out of $19.99 and I will never order from this establishment ever again!!!!!!!! How can you mess up two orders of just two whole chickens with bbq sauce on the side???? When I called back to get the owners name I was put on hold and sure enough they messed up some ladies order name Ms Gracie. She was telling someone on the line she did not order short ribs or potatoes salad she wanted mac and cheese and something else. She also said her order was cold and the person on the phone was saying he had hundreds of orders today and she was the first complaint. What a bunch of bull!!! I was missing one half chicken in each order and I only ordered two things. Are they that incompetent???? I tried to patronize a black owned business because it's the right thing to do if you're african american. This is not my first time ordering from ribs r us but it will be my last. One last thing my ubereats driver did not open my order and take one half chicken out of each order my bag was tied in a hard knot tight and you can tell the chicken was put in the container that way. If the owner happens to read this review let me just say you can't go around ripping people off to make an extra buck. Your day will come believe me. I am taking this to God. He watches over us all and is very aware of dishonest people that are in business!!!! Your day will come from doing people wrong by robbing them and thinking you are...
Read moreToday (2/27/2025) was my first visit to Ribs-R-Us. I live and work in Jersey, and one of my co-workers had bragged about this place which she frequents every Sunday for her after-Church lunch.
Well... The Owner greeted me and suggested the Pork Rib Platter with two sides. He had one of his employees to prepare me a Rib sample. The meat was savory and fresh, and fell off of the bone. I was convinced that I was at the right spot!
I had the half-a-Slab with Mac-n-cheez, and candied yams. everything was hot and fresh. I catered for 28 years, back home in St. Louis.... and I personally know "Good Food." Well... Ribs-R-Us have some "Award Winning" Candied Yams (diced)!!!
To top it off, he humbly suggested to have some Cornbread... and I graciously was given two small loaves. Before I pulled onto 5th Street to head back to Jersey, the Cornbread was judged as "Award Winning," as well. It melted in my mouth, after crunching on the corners of the mini-loaf, and wishing that I had ordered some greens to assist me with the chew. lol
I give Ribs-R-Us a 5-Star Rating, because I searched this area for Good-Tasting BBQ for 10.8 Years, and this is the ONLY place in The Philly Metro Area that Supersedes My Expectations.
I will definitely make my "Weekly Visit" to this "BBQ Mecca of the East Coast." I am very pleased and grateful for this recommendation, and have no problem spending my money, while making this 50 minute journey to a Place that's like back Home. Smiles.
When you get "The Itis" after eating a good meal, then you already know what I mean. Bon...
Read moreOverall I bought a brisket and pork rib combo which was 15.99$ an after credit card charge it was 17.95$ I don't know why it was a $1 credit card charge but whatever. when I ordered my food the platter felt very light so I checked it before I left, in one foil wrap had brisket and the other had the ribs and I ordered two sides which was macaroni and cheese and potato salad. the (5) pork ribs were fall off the bone but they didn't exactly taste like ribs, it taste like BBQ meat with sauce on it. the sauce was lacking, it was more of a BBQ hot sauce if anything else the brisket was very skimpy they put the brisket with sauce on bread which I didn't notice when I first opened it, with that said the brisket was about 4 oz of meat for a $17 platter it was very unsatisfying especially compared to the ribs which they gave you five ribs the brisket was very skimpy and so disappointing they didn't even leave the brisket in whole slices it was chopped up brisket with sauce. the potato salad had way too much sugar in it, I understand us Black Folk love to put sugar on things but the potato salad did not need all that Sugar, it was sweet, it was like candied potato salad all you need is a little relish that's it. The macaroni and cheese was very Bland it needed more cheese and salt and pepper. overall for the price it was very disappointing if you are in the central part of Philadelphia preferably North just go to Dwight's they're not as good as they used to be but they still better than this...
