Wayne & Berkely Seafood Market — Restaurant in Philadelphia

This place was recommended by someone and to my surprise WBS could use a deep clean, modern facelift to make the place appealing. I didnt want to judge bc sometimes good food comes from homely places. But should have followed my gut instinct. We (2 customers) ordered the fish sandwich deluxe platters; supppsedly comes with coleslaw, fries and fish on a brioche bun. Well 🤨 we got the fries and what appeared to be a fish sandwich. It had toppings (lettuce, pickle, onion) NO tartar sauce, BUT sandwich was room temp when recieved and not fresh fish. I order the mt trout with a slice of cheese (it was just laying on the bottom like who put me here🤷🏾‍♀️). My friend ordered the other fish. The shoestring fries too were room temp. and had that fried again oil saturated taste. Like why did we wait over 30 mins for cold food to be received?😡 Unfortunately we also took advance of the tuna salad and attempted the chocolate cake. Tuna salad was to tangy. The cake had added hair on top. PLEASE ROTATE YOUR REFRIGERATORATED FOODS!!!!! 2 front end workers the cashier was nice and refunded for the cake and then began checking the other cakes. The other worker just sat and excused us when we decided to self serve from the refrigerator. "Excuse me we are supposed to get that for you." I get it, but don't wait until we picked our items to tell us...stay observant! We took a L on the platters which wasn't much but enough, about $26. But we learned a lesson. We won't...

I ordered the jumbo sauted platter with steamed shrimp and broccoli and corn I asked for extra broccoli because I didn't want the potatoes . The food was reading in about 25min from ordering it I did not check the platter before leaving big mistake when I got home the platter had 4 small crabs not sauted just alot of ole bay seasoning on them one cluster of broccoli and one ear of corn with ole bay seasoning on it and a pound of butter at the bottom of the platter the shrimp were not fresh the texture had that soft rubber feel to it meaning they were old and the crabs were not jumbo at all and when I open the Legs just water came out of them no meat inside and the body of the crab had a lot of water coming out of them and the meat had a dark texture to it and no taste I didn't get the extra broccoli either I was very disappointed in the quality of the food I actually had a conversation with one of the owners or manger while waiting for my food how my mom while she was still living would come down to their fish truck and get fresh fish cleaned for us before she passed and she requested their fish before she passed away this was such a disappointment to me I don't think I will ever support their establishment again it really put a bad taste in my mouth and memory especially how my mother loved their fish it's such a shame definitely...

I Ordered Extra Large Crabs… and Got Baby Crabs Instead!

Listen. I don’t know what kind of game y’all are playing, but I paid extra for extra-large crabs and what I got looked like they just left daycare. These crabs were so small, I needed tweezers instead of crab crackers. I’m a Black woman who takes her seafood very seriously, and this was just disrespectful.

I was looking forward to a good ol’ seafood night—bib on, butter ready, and vibes set. But when I opened that box? Instant disappointment. I don’t know if y’all thought I wouldn’t notice, but I absolutely did. And for those prices? It’s giving scam.
