If you like expensive ($20+++) cocktails with slow service, watery, and that look better than they taste, you will love Antidote.
Unless you are staying at the hotel and don't want to walk over to Kierland Commons or Scottsdale Quarter there is no reason to come here.
First of all, you have to pay a $10 min for parking and walk a mile or so it seemed. If you are wearing nice shoes - you won't be happy.
You then have to meander through the hotel full of tourists and their screaming rambunctious brats. Go down a million stairs, and walk across a vast concrete expanse to get to this little bar that looks a lot better on Instagram than in person.
First and last time.

Read moreAntidote is the new bar experience at @westinkierland that opended earlier this year. Yes, it blocked the expansive open view of the course from the hotel lobby, but I think it's a perfect addition....shall we say it's the antidote to unused space 😉
The shade, misters, and the view will make this the new hot spot for summer. I enjoyed a seat at the bar and got some work done during lunch on a Wednesday. It was such a cool vibe, and I believe it will become a go-to spot for a relaxing drink. The pressed chicken quesadilla went well with the margarita and even better with a second cocktail, the Gin based love potion #9.
Be sure to get your parking ticket validated and to also visit the desert critters on display...
Read moreThe new bar at the Westin Kierland has a lot of potential, but there are still some issues that need to be addressed. The drinks were very tasty, but inconsistent—one of my Old Fashioneds was nearly twice the size of the other. They’re also overpriced for what you get. At $21 a cocktail, I expect better presentation, yet none of the glasses were polished, and one even had a chip on the rim.
On the positive side, the service was excellent, the views were fantastic, and the food was outstanding. I’d highly recommend the calamari and the French onion dip.
Hoping they work out these kinks because this could be a great spot. I’ll consider giving it another try...
