We got there between 7:00 pm - 7:15 pm tonight and got seated immediately.
Once seated, it took only 5 minutes or so to put in a drink order while we looked at our menus. However, it took another 20 minutes to actually get a glass of wine and a "pitcher" of porter...I don't think the pitcher was more than 32 ounces.
The server walked back and forth by our table 4 or 5 times after we were ready to put in a food order before he finally asked if we were ready. We put our order in and 30-45 minutes later, I asked him if our order was ready. He brought my soup. 25-30 minutes after that, he FINALLY brought the bruschetta out.
The panini we ordered was the only thing that came out hot, and it had so much fig jam on it that you couldn't taste anything else. We had two bruschetta boards. On one board, we had 2 warm artichoke spread, an apple and Brie, and a spicy pepper jam. The other board was warm artichoke spread, French onion, spicy pepper jam, and apple and Brie. All of them were STONE COLD!! We told him, and he brought out 4 new ones for the artichokes and French onion. Too little, too late.
He had ZERO server skills, no people skills, and no presentation skills. When he finally did bring the food to our table, he just dumped it on the table, at one point, reaching over the back of the booth to hand it to us. The table of 5 young ladies next to us tried for 20 minutes to get his attention, only to be forced to get up and go to him to get service.
By the time we left, we were dissatisfied, mad, and disappointed. We paid our tab and left, leaving food on the table, and...
Read moreVery disappointing dining experience, we spent about one hour in the restaurant and were not even able to have any food. We arrived for dinner after being in their waitlist for a bit, and were offered a table outside. About 20 minutes into our meal (we had already received our drinks and were waiting on the food), it started to rain and get windy to a point they had to turn off the heaters outside and it became unbearable and our two kids. We went outside with our drinks to ask for options and we were told by the host that we would have to wait another hour for a table inside (even though there was one available right in front of us). Our waiter pleaded to the manager (who never bother to come talk to us) that our food was ready. Ultimately they were adamant the table inside would take another hour, but they could box our food for us with a discount (to eat outside in the rain or in our car???). We said that unfortunately that was not the dining experience we were expecting, we had to pay for our drinks and left to a restaurant across the street where we were able to get a good meal right away). We understand the restaurant does not control the weather, but the handling of the situation and overall customer service was terrible. They would rather seat first folks which had just arrived, waste the food we had ordered than let us have for a 20-30 min a table that ironically no one cleaned for the time we were pleading our case and we waiting for a solution from the manager. Pity, the food looked good, but after this terrible experience our family won’t give this restaurant...
Read moreMy wife and I were there for a very early dinner/happy hour today. We were told about Postino's by friends in our home town of Calgary.
I almost never review restaurants. The only reason I'm reviewing this today, is because I think they felt we were dissatisfied. Nothing could be further from the truth.
We arrived around 3:30 for happy hour. That involves $6 wine glasses or beer pitchers. We are wine drinkers and enjoyed, probably more than we should have.
We definitely ate way more than we should have. We had the bruschetta board where you pick your own four, along with way too many appetizers that we shared over the course of a little under two hours.
At one point, we had maybe waited a little too long for a glass of wine my wife ordered and a few appetizers we had ordered earlier. No big deal. Stuff happens. We just mentioned it to an employee filling water glasses. It really was nothing. But they seemed to think it was, and we were almost embarrassed at how nice people were afterwards.
When the bill came, they had discounted everything almost 40%. We really were embarrassed and insisted on paying the undiscounted amount, which was still a bargain for all we ate and drank.
At the end of the day, we had a little too much wine and more than a little too much food which we both thoroughly enjoyed. Just a good time.
We visit Scottsdale on the regular, and we...
