Very understaffed. We waited over an hour and a half for our to go food which was just one plate and a drink that we were sharing. And we were not the only ones, everyone there waited way too long even for simple things like checking out. The front was left unattended quite often almost like staff forgot about it and only noticed when there was a large crowd. About 20 minutes into waiting someone asked us what our order was and scribbled it on some blank receipt paper and then also came out a second time to confirm whether we wanted all bacon or all sausage. I thought he asked because they hadn’t taken names from anyone so he was trying to match the food to the people, but now I think they lost the order ticket entirely. When they brought it out everything but the eggs and hash browns was incorrect. When our order was brought out the second time they still forgot a few things including our drink. If the ticket was lost please just be honest and say so to avoid all of this confusion. The staff was friendly and I can’t blame them, they need more people on shift and better management to guide them. Poor management is doing the owner of this business a huge disservice. You have a great location with plenty of customers but when the majority of the people leave frustrated you will never get them to be repeat customers. I can honestly say I did not see a single customer in there that looked pleased. Speaking as someone who has managed a restaurant before, please hire someone that knows how to run a restaurant and can get everyone on the same page and in the flow of things. Thankfully, the food was great when it finally came...
Read moreYou can now, no longer order a chocolate milk at Denny's here at the Flying J in Phoenix. If you do don't question her about it. Yesterday I ordered a chocolate milk and breakfast. No issues. The food wasn't great but it was breakfast never the less. We are truck drivers. These are the only places we can eat. She refused to serve my wife and I breakfast, rather than asking me to leave, saying nothing she walked out of the restaurant and brought the security guard to ask me to leave. I never was belligerent, nor was I loud. She refused to give her name, so management she was working at 5am on March 25th, 2024, I'm sure you know who was working. If this is how you are going to treat truck drivers then Flying J needs to reconsider who they do business with. My wife and I were not able to get breakfast for to the pick up time of our load and nature of our commodity. Denny's this shouldn't happen. Most businesses understand the consumer pays the bills. The customer isn't always right; but the customer is still the customer. Shame on the management of this location. You missed out on a possible $40 ticket plus tip. I always tip above $10 regardless of how low the rocket is and always above 25% because r take care of those in hospitality or here on the road because we appreciate them. But we will not return to this location ever in the future... sadly that includes Flying J, unless there is some action taken to correct this issue. Flying J employee was very helpful; but unfortunately was not able to do anything in this matter. Maybe corporate Flying J will incorporate some better guidelines for businesses operating in...
Read moreThis is the Dennys located at a Pilot Truck Stop in Phoenix.. A full service Dennys at a 24 hr. fuel stop with retail store services, clean restrooms and amenities of a quality Pilot service station. I've eaten here before- had dinner with my cousin and this time lunch with my team driver. I see this Dennys as a gem cause it's located in a Pilot travel center which happens to be my favorite of all travel centers. This Dennys is as nice as other Dennys in the Phoenix area and this one has more of a better vibe as it's located in a travel center with other shops & services. I had an awesome Bacon Avocado Burger that was so big and huge to even bite. Very delicious and deliciously appetizing-filling. The fries are great, nice and hot and crispy. They are huge steak fries! The best about Dennys is that it's a place that you know and comfortable dining, affordable and a great menu. Walk in, get seated, waited on and order up and basically get a meal & leave a tip all for $20 some odd dollars. I think even a fast food combo is costing almost the same without the luxury of being seated & waited on. I Also had a thirst quenching, iced Coke Cola with free refills. Food was freshly made, an all beef, huge burger, lots of fries & a tall soda at a hometown Dennys. I do really enjoy going to a Dennys. It's fun, food is great, friendly service and affordable. Easy way to treat yourself in this overpriced economy. I'm ready to go back to Dennys but next time for a Grand...
