First of all... don't blink when you drive by as you might miss the building. It is in a small shopping center strip mall area next to a Nail salon and cheap convenient store.
When I first walked in, I was greeted with a smile and was sat right away. I was there during lunch hours and they have really great lunch deals depending on the day of the week. There is a plastic center piece that has the daily lunch specials for 7.99. The Tea was 3 dollars, which I thought was slightly pricey, but not a big deal because I always get my fill. I fill up my glass at least 3 or 4 times. I love to drink a lot of tea!
I did not order from the lower priced lunch special as I really wanted a taco and enchilada with beans and rice. It was 10 dollars for the plate but was amazing and still not a bad price for how much food you get. The Enchilada sauce was mild and very tasty. I wish there was a little bit more on there, but that is just me being picky. The cheese inside was nice and gooey. Loved it. The taco was nice and crispy with tender juicy beef. Not out of this world good, but better than average. Definitely had a good flavor to the beef and crispiness to the taco shell. The beans and rice were on point. I could tell that the beans were refried fresh. Not too salty and not too over-spiced. It had the perfect blend of flavor.
I never once had to ask for my waitress to refill my glass as she was on it ASAP. I do like that they serve a small bowl of beans that come with the chips and salsa. The beans are a little bit more "soupy" but not watery. It seems like they add some extra green chile and some other very mild flavors that make it a bit more different for dipping chips into. It was really good. The salsa for me was kind of boring and nothing to praise about. It would be nice if they changed the salsa recipe a bit to have more kick, more garlic and more veggies, but it is not a deal breaker. Very average salsa in my opinion.
Overall, I would say that this place is a good spot with good vibes and better than average food. The service is great and the drink specials look to be on point. I didnt drink, but there were 3 dollar domestic beers and cheap imports as well. Give this...
Read moreEither Covid has hit every Arizonian and they simply can't taste food any longer, or they've lived so long in the area that they've come to settle for whatever they can eat. I mean, I don't get all the good reviews! I went to this place based on a video review whose daughter's parents owns the place... (mistake number one BTW)... first of all, I think I've come to my conclusion that you truly cannot find excellent Mexican food in Arizona. I ordered the shredded beef burrito, daughter had the Taco Salad which literally looked like something they just slapped into a dish in a prison cafeteria, and the wife had some kind of taco something. It really doesn't matter. At best the food was average. I mean, it was truly average. I mean, it was as if they left out the spices and plus, the red salsa must've been watered down . No one at my table liked the food! It's the worst experience when you gotta fork up all your cash (not including tip) for three lunch meals only to be so dissatisfied after. The service from the young gal was sweet and professional. My advice is, don't believe every positive review you read here... if you eat here and you like it, then spend your hard-earned money but I won't be coming back, and neither will most I don't recommend...
Read moreLas Glorias is a couple blocks away from our house and we've been frequenting this restaurant for more than 8 years now. The food is pretty consistent and the staff are friendly and effecient. Many of the staff have been there for as long as we have been visiting , so we've gotten to know the place pretty well. If you're looking for solid, comforting Mexican food, you really can't go wrong with this place. Their tacos are always perfectly crispy, they have great enchiladas (I highly recommend the grilled enchiladas or the spinach enchiladas), fillingly tasty fajita burritos and a delicious carne asada plate. Their fajitas are one of my go-to's as well and I'm a huge fan of their green corn tamales. Their house margaritas are delicious and for only $1.99 it's hard to resist ordering one whenever we're there. I also have noticed they've been slowly rolling out improvements all over the restaurant. In recent years they've added new tables and booth seating, fresh paint and this week newly printed menus. I think we're at this place at least a couple times a month and we never leave...
