Del Taco — Restaurant in Phoenix

04/08/2025 *I had to update since my last review. I recently went back to this location for my brother and was suprised they had new staff and that they were really nice and even more the food was great! I have since visited at least twice a week in the evening and staff is always nice and courteous and food is excellent!!!

I used to love this location but in recent years most staff has such a mean demeanor and desposition ...just the worst attitudes! So much that I started dreading getting certain staff members at the drive thru. They also actually get mad when you try to use point rewards from the app and once even had a girl argue with me saying I had to purchase something 1st...when I said I was just redeeming points not using an offer, she got super pissed off and kept almost yelling at me even after I explained. She finally got her manager...which is one of the ladies I dread that work there. The manager saw that I was right but then actually was giving me excuses for how the girl treated me...as this was happening one of the other staff members came and stuck his head out the window to look at me while the manager and girl were there too....now keep in mind the staff were the ones raising there voices at me! I felt like i was being ganged up on. Even dealing with that, we still came back several times ... but now in the last year, we wait 20 to 40 minutes in line in the drive thru, not once but several times. The food is such poor quantity and quality that most of the time it is inedible. No thank you, I will travel to a farther location if ever I should even feel like del taco again for this location has really ruined my appetite for Del Taco in general which is crazy because it used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Today was my first experience with Del Taco. I ordered several different things from the menu to sort of get a feel for what they're about.

I tried the Beyond Burrito and didn't really care for it. There's a lot of food in there, but not much liquid. It struck me as too pasty to be tasty.

I had the taco, with pinto beans instead of meat. The beans had a really striking, strong flavor. It would have been better with sour cream to balance out the flavor... but it didn't. I wasn't fond of that, either.

I had a bean tostada which, I didn't think I'd like because of my experience with the bean taco... but there was enough lettuce and tomato that the crisp, fresh veggies balanced out the beans and gave it all a nice texture and flavor. It just tasted fresh, clean, and delicious.

I also dried the cinnamon sugar donuts and the mini churros. Neither were terribly impressive to me. They're okay. They're edible. But they're not great.

But, and this is where my passion lies, the strawberry lemonade was absolutely remarkable. It wasn't an artificially-tasting lemonade. It tasted fresh, clean, and natural. It wasn't super lemony. It wasn't super strawberry-y. It wasn't super sweet. It was a little of all three. And it was remarkable. Honestly, I wish I had ordered two strawberry lemonades instead of one. That...

I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS LOCATION GETS THE HATE THAT IT DOES IN THE REVIEWS!!! First of all let's start with the value. I ordered it off of uber eats for pickup with a eight dollars off of a twenty dollar purchase coupon. Then they had a bogo on their bomb ass burgers, which I added fries and the secret sauce to for a dollar twenty five. I then proceeded to add four snack tacos and a nacho, which, after all, the promotions surmised, came out too just under seventeen dollars. This is at nine fifty one PM remind you. My tacos were all amazing and fresh. My nachos were fresh as were the chips in them, the burgers were amazing and the first time we had had them from Del Taco, the service was super friendly and expedient, handled with care. And we got to watch them, creating our order which I like. This is the location closest to our house, and the one that we frequent all the time, as they have not missed yet. My only criticism, if any is for them to bring back the mango poppin pearls. I did a 45 day in-house stint at a rehab facility in town. Because I was up to 6 popping pearl shakes a day and then they just disappeared....rude. You don't want to know what I did in the alleys of sunny slope for money, for more popping pearl shakes. Anyway... I don't have to live like that anymore and this location slaps. 10/10...
