RUN! Don’t even think about this school, RUN! The only reason this school has 5 stars is because students need 6 to graduate! This school is dirty, dingy and the equipment, like salon chairs are falling apart. Let’s start at the beginning when I was told I shouldn’t attend barber school first because they teach you that in the coarse, only to have my instructor at the time sit in her chair, play a video and say “I never learned men’s cuts til after graduation so” and sat on her phone. Most of the girls I had in my class at that time are still struggling with men’s cuts because of the lack of instruction. The same instructor was very nasty to my trans friend because she was very religious and would cross out her name and put her real one. We took matters into our own hands and went to the Tolleson campus to try and transfer because we felt we weren’t getting the education we deserved for the 20k we’re paying, only to be pushed aside and told we weren’t allowed til we were to the point of dropping out. This place is so mentally draining it’s unreal. Mr Kris is absolutely horrible, to the point where when he walks through the door it’s literally like a dark cloud covering the school. It could be so upbeat and energetic then the moment he walks through the door it’s just dread. He will undermine you no matter how confident you are and tell you you are wrong and his way is the right way, and if you disagree good luck. Multiple students have told the school directors that he is an issue only for them to tell students to worry about themselves. Students won’t make up hours because they don’t want to stay with him. We can’t even get simple cleaning supplies to disinfect our tools. I asked if we had a sponge for our tools and an instructor brought me a facial sponge 🙃 I provided the school with multiple sponges out of MY pocket and Weeks later I had to bring another because they were tossed and now one has been in the sink for idk probably 5 months now collecting mold and smells disgusting and they still don’t do anything about it. 2 weeks ago the AC went out in the salon and we worked in 88 degree temps for a week while having clients under the dryers still. This school is truly a joke man. Lastly you are nothing but a number at this school. The director flat out told me the day before my graduation that at the end of the day “this is a job and I want to clock out and go home” as if 1600 hours and 14 months of bs meant absolutely nothing. I could seriously keep going but…. Thank you Mr David for being an amazing instructor and taking time to actually instruct me. You’re the only good thing I have to say about...

I haven’t had time to pamper myself in awhile and I felt I was overdue for some “Me” time. I’m a very busy person working two jobs and running my own business. It can be hard to make time to take care of myself. However I told myself I need to take some time to better my health and my skin.

I searched around numerous places that would perform great skin care services and I ran across The Studio Academy of Beauty. It was nearby to me and there availability was pretty reasonable. I called to make an appointment and the staff was friendly, offering many skin care services and needs.

The day of my service I went in and was seen by an esthetician student; her name was Jane Le. At first I was a little worried that it was a student who would be performing my service. However I thought “Hey, we were all students at one point in time before we became who we are now.” Jane Le was very polite and professional. She walked me every step Of the way and greeted me with a warm smile. She first analyzed my skin to ensure what services would be right for my skin type. She advised that I should do a microdermabrasion which would help with my scaring, pigmentations and fine lines. I was happy to know she just wasn’t in it to give me any type of service. It made me feel at ease knowing she knew what my skin needed.

The service was comfortable, relaxing and painless. Jane periodically asked if I was ok and if I felt any pain or discomfort during the service. She was gentle and knew how to balance providing quality service and making sure I was comfortable through it all.

After my session, I saw immediate results. My skin looked more vibrant, smooth and soft. My skin was thanking me and I felt more confident looking at myself in the mirror each morning. I will be returning for more session in the near future. Jane definitely changed the way one can interpreted when getting service from a student.

This is the absolute most awful school. My daughter attended here. First of all the front office staff seems to have minimal education, empathy, compassion, or even general understanding. They are old school is what I told so apparently the machine to clock in steals time from students and then they get to charge you extra when you don't complete your term on time. There printer quality is subpar assuming this is because they are old school. I called to talk to someone higher than the general person my daughter is talking to. Since they won't help her. I call in and Sylvia with the front desk seems to have the inability to take things seriously as she laughed as I expressed my concern with their error in calculation of my daughters hours. Then they have two days completely missing on my daughters paperwork and have the audacity to tell her that she NEEDS TO PROVE she was here as opposed to investigating the problem .

They provide minimal products, minimal effort, and have no professionalism at all.

Please please read and investigate this school before you make the decision to send your child here. Or for any of you adults out here looking to advance your career please look at all your options.
