Read more5/10/23: came back for the brisket and jalapeño-cheddar sausage. Ordered the ranch beans and potato salad; with bread, pickles, and onions. Can’t say enough about the brisket as it’s incredible. The sausage had some kick. The ranch style beans are okay. Their own unique recipe. I liked the potato salad. It too was unique and provided a nice cooling effect for the spicy sausage. Come early. The line builds up, and the parking lot is full. Total tab after tax was $30+change.
5/3/23: 4 + 1/2 ⭐️… I finally got the opportunity to try their barbecue today. Came here on the recommendation from several people. I ordered the 2-meat plate: burnt ends (pork) and turkey; with jalapeño cheddar grits and coleslaw, and bread. The burnt ends had great flavor; were a bit tender and dry. The turkey was okay. It didn’t wow me as I’ve had turkey that was much tender and juicy. I liked the grits, and the coleslaw was fine. They gave one slice of bread. Back in KC they’d give two slices. I’d be all over corn bread if they had that. It is what it is. While waiting in line they came out with samples of their sausages - jalapeño & cheddar, and house (more ground pepper). The sausage tasted great. Once inside the cook slicing the meats gave samples of the brisket… so tender and full of great flavor. I should have gone with the brisket instead of the burnt ends; and instead of the turkey, ordered the pulled pork or sausage. The line was long outside the door, and the parking lot full. I recommend if you’re coming here to arrive early, or phone in your order for pickup. Bathrooms are very clean 👍🏼; seating is limited inside; and more seating available outside on long benches under a patio roof. Little Miss is in a dead heat with Caldwell’s in Gilbert. Well worth driving to if you live 50 miles away. Oh, about their sauces… the mustard was fine. A bit sweet. And the house was okay. I didn’t try the spicy sauce....

Let me start by saying this place is certainly not the cheapest BBQ around BUT I can wholeheartedly say that the bit extra you pay is absolutely more than worth it!
This is some really good and proper BBQ. I got the 2 meat plate with sliced brisket and pork belly. Ranch style beans and jalapeño/cheese grits for sides.
This is easily enough food for 2 people, if not 3. The picture shown is at the point I started getting full and needed a break. There's that much left, and I'm already full.
But, here's the twist! It's really, really good. Typically, places you get a lot of food - it's average at best. This place, it's lots of really good food. The brisket is like buttah! Truly. And the pork belly was candied and smoked. Literally meaty dessert. I typically gravitate toward the sides at a BBQ place, because sadly, the meat usually isn't good enough to carry it. The meat is definitely the star here! I have to admit I've only taken a couple bites of the sides. I was too focused on that brskett and candied pork belly. But the sides were good! The beans, in particular, have a lot of flavor.
I haven't tried dessert yet, but I'm really looking forward to the smoked pecan pie. If the rest of the meal is any indication, I have a feeling it's gonna be amazing.
Alright, so back with an update on the smoked pecan pie. I've not heard of smoked pecan pie before tonight. And, to be honest, I'm not certain what smoking it adds to the taste of the pie. I don't really detect any smokey flavor, but the one difference I noticed (but don't know if it is the result of smoking) is the texture of the crust. Most crust is somewhat thick, buttery, flaky - but heavy. There was something really pleasant about how thin and "crispy" the crust on this pie was. If that's the result of smoking it, I get it now.
Everything else about the pie is what I...
