Mandy's Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Phoenix

Today was my first time trying out Mandy's. I decided to make an online order because the website made it very easy to do. However, there seems to be an issue with online ordering. After you pay, it says to wait for the e-mail that your order is ready for pick up. So as a first time user, I expected an e-mail to come with a confirmation when it was ready. I also noticed that the site said online orders were typically ready in a bout an hour so I was very generous with the time. My order was placed at 3:32 pm. At 4:30 pm I decided to use the feature on the site that will send Mandy's a message to get an update on the order. At 4:54 pm I got no response or confirmation e-mail about my order so I called and was told the order had been ready for a while and was waiting to be picked up. So I headed down to get my food which was definitely cold and slightly soggy by the time I got it home. The food looked very good and I wish I could have tried it fresh, but since I was never notified that it was ready, I can only give my opinion based on the state it was in when I picked it up. I don't know how your system is setup or if this was a one-off or if I was supposed to assume that I wont get a confirmation email and to just head down to pick it up, but the system could definitely be managed better. I cant say I will be returning after paying $40 dollars for cold and soggy food but I hope the online system is managed better for future customers because I do believe the food is better than what I had...

I went to Mandy's on December 26th 2022 I specifically ask the lady at the counter did they serve American catfish or was it the (Vietnamese catfish) swai, she assured me that the catfish was American catfish. I ask again is this American catfish she again said yes, so I took her word for it and I placed my order for the three-piece catfish and three shrimps with fries after receiving my order I drove home when I opened up the container and I looked at the fish I knew then it was not American catfish, I got angry because I felt betrayed and lied to just to earn money by deception. I didn't feel like driving back into Phoenix cuz I live in the East valley so I cut a piece open to see the inside and here's what I got (see photos) I will not be doing business at Mandy's ever again because they lied, she straight up lied to me about the type of fish I was getting . Businesses should not be allowed to lie to customers about the products they're paying for. I think there should be laws on the books to protect consumers against false advertisement, because this is not the first time that a business has advertised catfish and giving me something else the other place was Marylou's on Central Ave in Phoenix they do the same thing advertised catfish but give you (Vietnamese catfish) or Swai, and I discovered it after the fact. mandy is alway hot and fresh the outside is crisp but the inside is moist meaning leftover warm up good. i only get the cod and shrimp combo so i can mot speak on other items they serve. the down side is seasoning they all none but fish is hot to sprinkle some on. i alway take my own condiments hot sauce, tartar sauce, homemade cocktail sauce and seasoning. they do have these items that they give you but i take what i like. also think pricing is fair for what i order. i also bring my own drink but again i do believe they have some i know thier is koolaid. Mask required take out only at this time. I am doing a update i went to Mandy on September 4th coming back from lake havasu. and a big thumbs down. when my husband opened his plate the smell told all. we hadnt eaten all day and it was after 4pm. the mandy special cod and shrimp. i could not eat my fish cause it had the bad taste as well as smell. i would had thought it was the grease you know that taste when the oil is old ,but my shrimp was okay unless it was fried in different oil. but any way if you do good i will keep coming back but serve me something bad especially seafood is a big turn off. so it will be a good min before i can return but i will give them one more shot in a few months but if it happens again i will have to look for another spot or just do it myself all the time. please keep your oil clean and seafood fresh...
