We used to come here once or twice a week because it’s within walking distance. But after our last visit we will NEVER come back. The service has always been consistently terrible. Servers always disappear and forget about you even when the place is empty. Nobody is ever very friendly. The place is always filthy (the patio furniture is disgraceful 🤮)

Long story short, I paid and left and made it half a block before realizing I didn’t have my debit card. I ran back and the bill was still on the table but table had been bussed. My card was not in the book. It had never been returned in the first place, hence my forgetting it. I’ve never had that happen in my entire life.

I told the hostess I can’t find my card. She went back and I waited and waited. I ended up being there 40 minutes and having to speak with three different managers two of whom accused me of losing my own card and lying to me about the situation. They kept trying to get me to leave and said they would call me if they found it. I said I’m not leaving until we find my card. I’ve never been so disrespected or mistreated at a restaurant in my entire life. They eventually “found” and returned my card and nobody attempted to compensate me and nobody took responsibility for this absolutely disgraceful situation. And when I asked to remove my tip from the bill, two managers tried to dissuade me and intimidate me from doing so, as if it was my duty to tip even after the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I asked for the name of the owner and the big bar manager, who was completely out of line and dishonest and unprofessional, laughed and refused to give me the owners name. Red flag. These guys know how bad the situation at this store is. They don’t want the owner to know.

This restaurant has inept leadership, no organization, no integrity, and it’s clear there is a toxic culture here. If the employees and managers treat customers with such disdain and contempt they likely are also robbing the owner blind. The owner should be VERY concerned about...

I tried out this placed based upon its reviews - I ordered a Large Kosmic Karma pizza (found under "Specialty Pies"). It was pretty good pizza, although I was a little disappointed by the amount of feta cheese on it. I took a close-up pic and it doesn't lie - there wasn't much on there and as a result, it didn't add much flavor. There's no question that the pizza would have been better if there had been more. But, it was a nice combination of ingredients and the pizza tasted good otherwise.

The issue with this location is the parking - there is none. Mellow Mushroom is situated in a large shopping center with many business and restaurants in the vicinity; and not nearly enough parking. I was just picking up a pizza and couldn't find a place to park. I drove around for 15 min. and eventually just parked (illegally I think next to a dumpster) so I could run in, grab the pie and get out of there. I'd like to try their food again, but the parking is such a nuisance, that I can't say I'll come back. And I get that it isn't Mellow Mushroom's fault, but it does affect my decision to give them repeat business. Too bad.

EDIT: This place has become one of my favorite pizza places. When I first tried it, I came at night and didn't see signs for the ENORMOUS parking garage about a block away. The owner reached out, and sure enough, it's right where he said.

The owner also sent me a gift card after my initial review (thank you!). So the next time I stopped in a got a beer while I waited for a pizza. I was pleasantly surprised by the inside. It has a cool music theme that goes far beyond your run-of-the-mill pizza places and a great beer selection.

If you get pizza, I recommend trying the Great White or Holy Shitake - you can't go wrong...

The absolute best pizza I have had in many years. This was our first time at this Mellow Mushroom and besides the wonderful food the service by our server GABRIELA was exceptional. GABRIELA was taking orders, keeping guests happy making sure the order is correct, keeping drinks filled and when the order was delivered, GABRIELA was at our table asking if we needed anything each and every time she was anywhere near our table. I have to completely thank GABRIELA for all the service she provided all during the lunch. GABRIELA is the single person we encountered this day that make us want to return.

Others making this meal just wonderful: SAVANAH, VICTOR

Respectfully, Gus

Music: I did not like the music and I do not think I would have liked the music 55 years ago as a 20 year old. I tell Managers, if and when I ever see one that there is music that is easy to listen to and not so loud that I have to speak loudly to my wife only a few feet from me. Elevator music, as we said so many years ago. If you played this in a confined space, people would go crazy. The pizza box says 50 years; so why not play the TOP 10 from...

Having tapped our local hood for locally owned pizza, we went to Mellow Mushroom to see how they measured up. The atmosphere is fun and consistent with their psychedelic brand theme. Fairly simple menu with standard pub grub appetizers, a variety of creative pizza combos, and burgers. Prett large beer menu as well. We started by trying their beer pretzels and wings. The pretzels,...well, weren't. They were just twisted pale white baked dough served with OTC plain mustard - the whole world is doing pretzels now, so the bar has risen. The wings were room temperature and otherwise forgettable. We ordered the classic crust pizza with just Italian sausage. I was pleasantly pleased with the quality, texture, and taste of their crust. It was crispy edge-to-edge. Their sauce is nice and tangy. It may just be crushed tomatoes and nothing else, and it stood out and made the pizza. The service was good and the prices are really reasonable, especially during happy hour. Makes for a great family spot.

My son's favorite place to enjoy pizza and on his recommendation we were happy to give them a try. They have a really creative decor filled with art and musical instruments you might even say the mushroom decor is magic! Pun intended, but seriously, their stone-baked pizzas are delicious, and they are celebrating their 50th year menu anniversary . They also have a great selection of craft beers, happy hour, and lunch specials. We tried a couple of the local to your mellow specials. We split a Bacon Blue Wedge salad $9.19 and a large Loaded Potato Pizza $31.79 topped with roasted red potatoes applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Finished with chives and a drizzle of sour cream and spicy ranch dressing. It really was an impressive pizza. We can't wait to go back and try some of their mellow munchies, or perhaps a Hoagie they look really good. If pizza is your passion, this is the place.
