Modern Margarita — Restaurant in Phoenix

We walked into the restaurant and the bartender said, "Hi," and then ignored us. We waited for the non-existent hostess to seat us. After several minutes, we asked the bartender if we should seat ourselves. She acted as though this was a novel question and called over the hostess. Once seated, our "server" set us up with salsa, sans chips, and took our drink order. We watched our two beers, a mere 10 feet away sitting at the bar, for at least 15 minutes before they arrived at our table with our chips. We placed our order for a total of 4 tacos and asked for more salsa. About 10 minutes later, our "server" checked in, at which point we asked again for more salsa. When another 10 minutes passed with still no salsa, the hostess kindly noticed and offered to refill for us. We finished our second bowl of salsa with still no sign of dinner, after repeated promises from our "server." Finally, after 1.5 hours, we decided we were over it and asked for the bill. Ironically, our server told us the beers were on the house but still wanted to charge us for the food we never received! He claimed, "They are plating the tacos right now," so we agreed to give it one last chance. Then, we watched our "server" go back to the kitchen several times, returning with food belonging to other customers. We finally threw some money on the table to cover the salsa and walked out. We aren't sure if the fault was truly with the kitchen or with our "server." While nice and well-meaning, the person waiting on us had no business doing the job. He could barely remember his name let alone our order or anything else. If you are looking for a decent restaurant salsa, this might be your place. Prior to my last time there (two days ago) I had only been there for a couple of drinks. The drinks were alright, but I was more annoyed with the horribly loud music. I get it, they are shooting for a certain demographic... Went two nights ago for dinner. I'll start with the good. The side of black beans were good. The rest, not so much. The service was terrible. It took 20 minutes for the waiter (Dylan) to show up. Drinks were ordered. 15 minutes later they arrive. My drink had a significant chip in the glass, so once we actually saw our server, 10 minutes later, I had to flag him down to get a replacement. A Tito's and tonic is about as easy as it gets right? My replacement drink tasted like vodka and dishwater. Ordered chips and salsa...10 minutes later they arrive. Having once again to flag down our waiter to put in our order, we do. The tacos we both ordered took 30-40 minutes to get to the table. This whole time, the server didn't come by once. While eating, I once again had to flag him down to order another drink (beer this time). The beer was good. The tacos were sub-par. Dry chicken, dry fish...solid corn tortillas though. All done..."where's the waiter? 10 minutes later I had to ONCE AGAIN flag him down. I didn't even want to wait for the check. "Here Dylan....take my card and run it!" There were maybe 15 people total in the restaurant when we arrived. We were there for an hour and a half. I usually give a restaurant at least two visits before I review, but this was a complete and utter disaster. Zero chance...

You won’t believe what happened here… spent about 20 minutes here and I had to leave. We arrived and immediately seated at a booth, there wasn’t A lot of people there. I would say one group of people sitting at one table inside and another outside. We noticed the booths dirty, and I mean tables had crumbs from the night before, and a huge amount of dust on the tops of the booths. No joke dust so bad I couldn’t understand how it was possible in a restaurant.. we waited and waited at 10 min a server approached us and said she’d be right with us, so we waited and waited 5 min later and she brought waters and asked in a rush what we want to drink I said.. we would like to put in our order she said.. in that case I’ll be right back. While waiting again I looked at the cups she dropped off and got grossed out by how filthy the glass was. No joke the glasses were so cloudy and spots everywhere you’d think that it was on purpose. It was the final straw for me, I couldn’t feel comfortable eating knowing how bad they clean, and the wait was so off. The service was horrible just extremely disappointing how it all went. I walked up to the hostess and explained in a very nice way why we were leaving and wanted her to know how dirty it was inside. Overall I will never be returning and I don’t think things will change.
