Mr Submarine — Restaurant in Phoenix

Nice little sub shop. I was somewhat skeptical because from the reviews it looks like they went through a bit of a rough patch a year or so ago but it was a pretty solid sub.

I'm not sure what the other reviewers were saying with regard to skimping on meat, there was plenty on the Italian that I got— try going to JJs nowadays and you'll get two slices of meat on your sandwich.

Good value too. Some others on here are complaining about price but forget we no longer live in the $5 foot long era and a sandwich from Subway can be just as expensive. It was $10 for a 12" sub.

Ultimately, it's good but nothing to really go out of your way for. But if you're in the area and need a sub, this is a good spot. I'll come back here way before I think about going to Subway or Jimmy...

Have the owners or business changed? This place is not a 4 star sub shop. The beard is rubbery and has absolutely no taste. The meats are not worthy of a deli, and are more like Wal-Mart Great Value meats, but worse. They look soggy as if they were frozen or refrigerated for a long period of time in that saran wrap that has turned it to mush. The veggies are absolutely the lowest quality I have ever had.

There are no positives about this place...I literally threw away the bread and meat and just ate the pickles and the chips.

It's 2021, stop serving us bargain basement products and expect us to pay top dollar. At least subway has the courtesy to bake their own bread, even if it isn't bread at least they try. This place...

Used to love place but quality has gone down and prices went up. My daughter loves the place been going for over 20 years. She just got out of the hospital and I wanted to surprise her. Drove 40 miles to get there. I have bladder issues so when I got there I had to go super bad. Asked if I could use the bathroom before I ordered and was told "no take out only" I understand that and I am ordering to take out. I told her (which to be honest she has always been a witch, like dealing with her husband so much better) still I wasn't allowed to use the bathroom which AZ does have a law you can't people from using it. Well I left so I could go to a place that wants me business. And I was going to order 8 subs. Lost my business...
