Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Phoenix

First time having frozen custard. Took my oldest son and we got the twist which is vanilla and chocolate. Those are the only flavors they have and then you can choose from toppings if you like.

It was good, kinda like a cross between ice cream and fro-yo but you can only eat a little before your stomach hurts. It’s really rich and dense.

They have this thing that is frozen Italian ice with a little frozen custard on top. I think that would be really good since it’s just a dollop, probably not as rich as getting a whole bowl of frozen custard and I can imagine it would be very complimentary to frozen Italian ice. So I am definitely going to go again to try that.

We went on a Thursday night around 8pm. There were a handful of people there but we didn’t have to wait in line.

I don’t even know if I can express just how good this place is! Especially on a sunny day. Sizes are perfect. Price is right. My only personal opinion was on the kids Gelati, they don’t layer the custard and Italian ice. I think a bit of the custard on the bottom wouldn’t hurt. But that’s my personal opinion lol doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s A-Mazing! Couldn’t get a good picture since it’s in a big cup, but trust me. You’ll see enough customers coming in and out with a smile full of yumminess and satisfaction. As far as customer service. Be patient with the younger ones. It’s a job to then, not a career, but they get the job...
