Checked out The Sub Shake today with a couple friends, and let me just say: this place is sub-lime. Hands down one of the best sandwich spots in Arizona and thatâs coming from someone who treats carbs like a love language.
The guy working the counter? Absolute legend. Friendly, funny, and had the kind of energy that makes you want to tip extra and invite him to Friendsgiving.
The food? Incredible. Fresh bread, bold flavors, generous portions, and not a single soggy tomato in sight. Oh, and reasonably priced, which in this economy is basically an act of public service.
The vibes? Immaculate. The hoagies? Life-changing. The regret? Nonexistent.
If youâre anywhere near Papago Park (or honestly, even if youâre not), do yourself a favor and go get shaken up in the best way.

The lady here was condescending and rude and didnât inform me that despite the several choices for bread, she only had white bread when I requested wheat. She also didnât inform me that hot sandwiches werenât toasted and said they didnât have a toaster, all of which she told me after I paid. If I had known any of this I would have taken my money elsewhere to begin with. I spent $40 on two sandwiches and the experience is disappointing at best. This is my first visit and will also be my last....
Read moreThe bread at this sub shop is truly what sets it apart. No toasting needed, I promise. My GF and I were in town for a few days and went twice because everything was so good. We tried the Italian Supreme on garlic herb, BLT and the Southwest Chicken Bacon on garlic parm bread, the bread was fresh, perfectly prepared, and incredibly filling. It's not just a vehicle for the filling, it's a star in its own right. We also loved hearing the fun fact about the history behind their bread recipe, it adds a nice personal touch to the experience. Highly recommend stopping by for a delicious and...
