The best Chinese food in the area! Peking House was recommended by a co-worker when I moved to Cincinnati six years ago. I'm pretty picky when it comes to food, but can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal there. I live on the east side of Cincinnati, the Peking House is about a 20 mile trip (one way) for me. I drive past many Chinese restaurants on my way (which I've tried) but have never found one that compares to the quality and quantity of the food they serve.
I've tried many items from their large menu (they offer many vegetarian choices) and they are always willing to accommodate any special dietary requests if asked. Portions are more than generous, (I usually have leftovers for a couple of days), prices are very reasonable. The food tastes fresh, never greasy. My favorite item is the Singapore Mei Fun - (be warned) it's a little on the spicy side.
As a rule, I generally call my order in, but at times decide, at the last minute (usually on the way home from work) that I'm craving Chinese and just drop in without calling. My order is always ready to go in 5-10 minutes.
Don't be put off by the appearance of the place -they're located in a tiny strip mall (next to a check cashing store and a pizza place). What the Peking House lacks in ambience, their food certainly definitely makes up for it!
Peking House is open six days a week, as others have mentioned they're closed...
Read moreMy child ordered the general Tso chicken. A few hours later she got sick. When I smelled the chicken she had left it smelled raw, uncooked and bad. I called the restaurant to let them know and they were extremely unprofessional. They said it’s not possible for this to happen. Food can go bad at any time at a restaurant. I didn’t say this was on purpose. It’s extremely disappointing the way they handled this situation. I’ve ordered from here for years and this is the second time this has happened. I chalked it up the first time a few weeks ago and then it happened again. Someone isn’t preparing this food correctly or this wouldn’t have happened. This whole situation has turned me off from this restaurant. This isn’t how you treat people. This isn’t how you handle a problem either. What she should’ve said is, “I’m sorry. How can we make this right?” I’ll be reporting this to the board of health on Monday. It seems the restaurant needs inspected to make sure it’s clean. This isn’t the route I wanted to take but it’s the restaurant’s own fault. Next time, we’ll there won’t be for me, if someone calls with a problem, you should listen. When it comes to food safety, there can’t be any mistakes. Being aggressive instead of responsive in this situation looks horrible on the restaurant. I hope you all do better in the future. Don’t order the...
Read moreI would like to say that the food was awesome like that last hundreds of times I've ate there in the past 13 years, I cannot. I can't describe how different my wife and my plates of food were. And that isn't in a good way. We've been ordering the same two meals every time, which is General Tso's C27 and c11 boneless spare ribs with vegetables added. This time the person taking the order was far from nice and didn't seem like she wanted to take our order, which is different from the normal person I've always delt with. The General Tso's chicken did not have the same seasoning as it used to, instead of being spicy it was sweet, and the chicken was crunchy and dry, the Boneless Spare Ribs weren't boneless, it was 3 bones with almost no meat at all and hardly any sauce, the were also dry tasted old, usually with this meal you get half a plate of boneless ribs and rice, this time it was mainly rice with maybe a ½ cup of meat. While this was our favorite place to get Chinese takeout, I seriously doubt I will ever go back. I hate to say this because we used to live going to eat here so this bad review and bad experience is with a...
