EDIT: I have now made many dozens of successful trips to this Piqua store since my original review. I have continually received awesome service and great food every time! The manager Ariana has really been working hard to get this store on track. Heidi is always quick to greet me as soon as I walk in and tonight I had a new girl named Lacey who did wonderful taking my order and having my food all ready in well under 3 minutes! She even came out to ask if everything was good (it was!) It seems like the biggest complaints this store gets is a slower drive thru (and sometimes being understaffed…hopefully as more people come here to eat, that will change accordingly). Anyway, I normally order and eat inside so I honestly don’t have much experience with the drive-thru. But the five or six times I have used it, it was no slower than any other fast food place (McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Arby’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, etc.). I am especially happy that they FINALLY got their “Hardee’s” sign out by the road lighting up at night! Plus, they now have a doorbell too which alerts the employees whenever customers come in (since the kitchen wall does oddly block the view of the front counter). But yes, Hardee’s is now my official “go to” place every single time I go to Piqua. I love it!
So look, I will admit when this store first opened, it was rather messy. My first several attempts were met with disappointment by either the lobby being closed early, the drive-thru being slow or else the entire restaurant being closed around 6. After begging for a Hardee’s to open up closer to me for nearly 10 years now, it is safe to say that that was not the service I was hoping for.
However, I believe this store is finally getting over their growing pains and is getting their act together. The last 5 times I have gone here to eat, the lobby was open when it was supposed to be, the employees have been very friendly and the food has been great and now is to the level of quality that I have come to expect from any other Hardee’s restaurant in the Dayton area. I am hopeful that they will be able to hang onto the current crew they have and will be able to keep true to their posted hours so I won’t make any more wasted trips (and that they will get added to the app soon so I can start redeeming Star Rewards here).
After the Sidney Hardee’s went out of their way to chase me off (after easily being one of their most loyal customers) by no longer offering/accepting the BOGO receipt surveys anymore, I am hopeful that I can now transfer nearly all of my Hardee’s loyalty to this Piqua store instead. Times are hard for lots of restaurants right now and everyone is stressed, but just a little patience and understanding goes a long way. Read moreIt is probably no secret how much I love Hardee’s (I literally drive up from Troy solely to eat here), so I was sad when this store was temporarily closed last year due to staffing issues. However, since it has reopened with a new GM, I have noticed a major change in how much quicker the food is prepared. I never really used the drive-thru myself but, before the temporary closure, it was very common to see a car parked up front to wait for their orders. Since this store has reopened, I have not seen that happen during any of my visits! With more employees the drive-thru seems to be moving faster than it did previously.
As far as the food goes, it is delicious like always. My favorite items are the Big Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwich or Mushroom & Swiss Burger and Chicken Strips and during their breakfast l enjoy their Sausage Gravy & Biscuit as well as the Frisco Breakfast Sandwich, but my favorite is their Loaded Omelet Biscuit and Cinnamon Roll (both pictured)! The egg is stuffed with ham, bacon and sausage with cheese on top between a buttery biscuit. They are amazingly tasty! I also like their Fish Sandwiches (but those are only available during specific seasons). If I am not too hungry, I can just order the “Original Bag” deal which includes two smaller sandwiches, fries and a drink all for only $6.99! And if you have the Hardee’s app, you can enter the barcode numbers at the bottom of your receipts to earn free food! I suspect that a lot of people miss out on that perk.
The stars at this particular store are Tanesha and Jennifer. When either of these two ladies are there, you can not possibly go wrong! They are very kind, professional and are working hard to earn back customers who were not happy with this store back when it originally opened. Based on all the new positive reviews I am reading, their efforts seem to be working! Even my sister (who had one underwhelming order back when this store first opened and swore she would never go back), decided to give it another chance since reopening and she told me that it was “much better than before” and that Hardee’s is officially back on her list of potential places to eat at whenever she is in Piqua. I am truly hopeful this time that this store has worked out the kinks so more customers will give Hardee’s a try and they will be able to continue serving up the delicious quality of food that I already know they...
Read moreFirst and last time I will EVER choose this place. First, we were the only people inside the lobby, but we waited around 20 minutes for 2 meals plus one cheeseburger. We got our food, and the chicken strips I ordered were disgusting. The chicken was rubbery, the breading was burnt, and i didn't eat any of it. It was like they had re-fried old chicken.
As i was telling my husband I wanted to bring it back and get my money back, a customer that had come thru the drive thru came inside to return a sandwich he had been served. As this man was trying to tell the guy working that the sandwich wasn't good and he didn't want it (seems to be a pattern with their food), the guy behind the counter literally tried to argue with him and act like he couldn't give him a refund. The customer wasn't walking away without it. There was a little back and forth between them, and the employee finally gave in.
After watching what that customer went thru, i decided it wasn't worth the battle to try to get my 3 or 4 dollars back, but I will NEVER eat here again, and I will also tell my friends and family how awful the food and service was. Oh, and the floor in that dining room looked like it hadn't been swept it mopped in weeks. Straws, napkins, food, paper, and unidentifiable debris cluttered the floor EVERYWHERE. It wasn't one or two tables that just hadn't been cleaned "yet," it was the whole freaking place. I wish I would've looked at reviews before wasting my money at this place! Never again.
