Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Piqua

In the past this was my go to Dairy Queen that always had top quality blizzards. The last few times I have been at this location have been lackluster in the “blizzard dept”. Not sure what has changed and I don’t want to hear about being short staffed because somebody has to make the blizzard. After I received my Choco dipped strawberry blizzard at the drive thru I tried to go into the store and complain since this was my third or fourth horrible blizzard from these guys in the last few weeks but the doors were locked saying that the lobby was closed, probably due to short staffing! $8 and change for a small and medium blizzard you kind of expect a good one right? Anyway there wasn’t a single strawberry in the medium blizzard and the ice cream wasn’t even barely a pink color almost like they added a teaspoon of strawberry sauce if that. Very disappointing as I frequent Dairy Queen a few times a week usually in Sidney. Somebody in the Piqua location needs training or their quality control inspection needs to be a bit more robust! Unacceptable when paying full price and expecting...

I just went through the Piqua Ohio location and got my regular Choco dipped strawberry blizzard. I went back after about two months ago and the quality this time was as bad as it was when I left a review the last time. I really try to post positive reviews but twice at the same location, getting the same menu item and being completely disappointed. It was about 5:15 PM and I was the only person in line at the time. I knew when I saw the server handing out the window I was going to be disappointed. About 25% of the way down the strawberry topping was gone and the chocolate pieces were nearly distinguishable. I’ve ordered the same blizzard dozens of times with about 50% success of getting a good one. It seems to me that people are either being rushed or have absolutely no idea how to make a proper blizzard of this type. I understand slow service during this time but quality is inexcusable. When you pay almost 5 dollars for a medium blizzard you would think you would get top quality! The only reason I am giving two stars is at least it has been consistently bad the last two times...

Ordered a soft serve ice cream with a cone on the side and chocolate dipping sauce on the side. Drive 20 miles round trip to get home and have a chocolate sundae nothing on the side chocolate sauce no dipping sauce. Everytime I think it is time To give Dairy Queen in Piqua another try this is what happens. Just because it is getting close to closing time does not mean customer service should not be priority. When I called to speak to manager I was passed to 2 different people. Manager had to tell staff to be quiet because he could not hear on the phone. Excuse given was because they just closed and the they are a little loud. Then instead of an apology at first I heard nothing but excuses. Not professional and hey at least I can get a free ice cream when I go back. What a joke nothing for the 29 miles that was drive to not get anything....
