RibCrib BBQ — Restaurant in Pittsburg

My husband and I came in at 9pm yesterday night I always hate going into a restaurant that close to closing but we drove 1hr to eat at chatters for my birthday but they shut down early anyway the host greeted us right away and didn't even seem the slightest bit annoyed actually was very smiley! We got our drinks ordered and wow they came fast and the bartender did such a good job! My peaches and cream drink was wonderful and my husband ordered a strawberry marg with vodka and that was the best yet! Our waitress I think her name was Nichole she was just downright amazing! Very friendly and super sweet! Didn't rush us one bit! The food came out soooo fast we were shocked but in a good way and omg that's some of the best bbq I've had in awhile and that's saying something coming from a former waitress at a BBQ place. the catfish was nice and soft not overcooked or undercooked just perfect! I can't thank you guys for making my birthday dinner just so wonderful I'm kinda glad chatters wasn't open because I was able to enjoy some of the best food! My husband is super picky on his bbq and he and I both cleared our plates! I don't come to Kansas very often but if I ever am ill definitely be back! Thank you again for saving my birthday! Food and service was great... was a gentleman that came in(could tell that something was a little bit off mentally) he wanted to buy some empty cups.. he wasn't bothering me at all but couldn't afford them all... the hostess apologized to me a couple of times.. then i asked her 2 questions... is he gonna be ok and is he a veteran? She said yes to both.. i told her to add them to my bill no questions asked.... she said that he lives in the assisted living facility close by and he's in there about 3 times a week and that you had to start charging him for them... anyone that serves our country and comes home (especially with mental or physical issues) gets whatever they are asking for when I'm there... he wasn't being rude or disrespectful and wasn't asking for a meal.. he simply wanted some empty cups... if that helps him deal with whatever mental illnesses he has from combat, you simply smile and say "thank you(or nice to see you) and be careful" buy a case and set them to the side if he's in there that much... you don't make them feel even worse when he couldn't afford to buy them all..... that was incredibly unpatriotic and disrespectful in...

I'm just going to cut right to the chase and forget all the fluff. The food was overpriced. The brisket was dry and flavorless, the ribs were borderline jerky, the smoked chicken breast was overcooked, dry, and bland, the coleslaw was too rich for a bbq pairing, and the onion rings were just unimpressive, batter-heavy side notes to an already disappointing meal. The only saving grace for the whole experience was the pulled pork, which was phenomenal. It had the perfect amount of seasoning allowing for the natural pork flavors and smokiness to be the focus and was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender with the right amount of juice to be moist without being greasy. The wait staff was also attentive and responsive whenever we had an issue. I may consider going back if I ever get a hankering for bbq again, but if I do I'll definitely steer clear of the pricier choices.
