On June 21, 2024, after an energetic evening of dancing at Los Sabrosos Dance & Fitness next door, a guest and I visited Mixtape Caffeine & Cocktails. Drawn in by the vibrant music and bustling scene, we paid the $10 cover charge per person and joined the dance party inside.
The DJs at Mixtape are phenomenal, keeping the crowd hyped and dancing all night long. The music was a fantastic mix of rap, hip-hop, reggae, Latin, and smooth soul, bringing back memories of hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Both DJs definitely deserve 5 stars for their stellar performance and ability to keep everyone on the dance floor. The atmosphere was electrifying, and the mature audience clearly enjoyed moving to the beats.
However, the venue itself is quite compact. The small space meant we were constantly bumping into others, which can be frustrating and uncomfortable. The cramped environment only merits 3 stars due to the lack of space to move around freely.
We didn't have the chance to try the food service as there was none available during our visit, so I can't comment on that. Additionally, the overwhelming crowd made the venue extremely hot. With only a single fan providing minimal relief, it was difficult to cool down after dancing. This issue with ventilation and cooling deserves only 1 star.
Parking is along the streets, and while it's free, you may need to walk a couple of blocks to reach the venue. This aspect of the experience rates at 4 stars.
Overall, we had a great time at Mixtape Caffeine & Cocktails. The energy is infectious, and the crowd is pleasing. However, better ventilation and more space would greatly improve the experience. Despite these drawbacks, I highly recommend Mixtape to anyone who loves a diverse range of music and a lively dance scene. Just remember not to wear heavy or formal attire unless you want to...

This place is absolutely amazing with pop-ups! My husband and I recently attended the โA Very Merry Mixtapeโ and were blown away!
As we entered, we were brought into Santaโs workshop full of toys. Once through the next door, you were transported to a Winter Wonderland of fun! Tons of garland and shimmery ball ornaments hung from the ceiling, light up Christmas characters around each corner, trees galoreโฆit was wonderful!
We received a drink with our ticket which was so tasty! Popcorn was available for purchase along with other drinks including cocoa for the kids or non-drinkers.
After relaxing with our drinks, we began our quest to find all the QR codes in the establishment to answer questions with changes to win some cute little prizes. Other games available too.
It was a relaxing night away from the kids with great photo ops! Would definitely return for another pop-up!
Casual and Cozy. Dancing, food and drinks at bar, pinball machines.
Credit/Debit cards accepted.

ย ย ย Read moreA very interesting experience to say the least. Nice facility, but too "hipster" for me. Odd location (there's literally nothing else nearby, so it's quiet at night), and they can't/don't pack people in there (so even on a slow night it seems like there is a wait).
The facility and restrooms are surprisingly clean, staff doesn't seem to really care to be 'of service', and the menu is too elaborate for my liking. When I'm out drinking, yeah I'm down for a unique and fun drink but i don't want to read a book just to figure out what I'm going to drink. On top of which, out of the 7 people in my group, 3 hated their drinks and couldn't even drink them.
The one thing that is kind of cool (but again hipster) is the stack of games they provide! Cool idea, but thrown off by the empty dance floor and pre selected song list. Every now and then you'd get a great string of music that made you want to get up and dance, followed by a lull that made you think "what the heck is this?".
All in all, cool concept...
