I’m not sure where to start as the experience was horrible. The guy took my girlfriend’s order and totally ignored me up to saying the total without asking I wanted anything. Never asked how we were, like man what a life you must live to be that miserable.
Now for the drinks, YUCK! They were so nasty. I’m not huge into sweetener, but if all the drinks are unsweetened that should be noted. The green tea was unbearably strong (again no sweetener) and it was definitely steeped too long. The kava was super strong and might not be for everyone. I am so disappointed with the entire experience as we have heard nothing but good things.
I will note that honey in a hot tea on a cold day would probably be nice, but as far as iced drinks and customer service, they are not existent. Kava again is going to be person by person, it’s a cool menu choice.
Based on my overall experience and how rude the guy was, I certainly won’t be returning and could never...
Read moreBantha Tea Bar is exactly what makes Pittsburgh wonderful. Most importantly, the place is populated with, from what I can tell, a pack of friendly oddballs. There always seems to be something interesting going on; all types are welcome. From the mosaic floors, to the hand-sculpted mud wall interiors, you can tell that this is a well-loved little shop that is thoughtfully curated. It really does feel like stepping into a watering hole on a desert planet in a galaxy far, far away.

If I were new to town, I think this would be a great place to meet new friends and tap into some local activities. Can't say enough nice things...

This is "my perspective" shared FYC (For Your Consideration): I needed two cup holders and waited 15 minutes after pour before drinking ... ITS HOT and the tea leaves are HUGE ... they hold heat, I'd wait before consuming (this includes sipping but hey it's your mouth and tongue) ... ENJOY!! After consuming, remove from tea bag. I used a scrap piece of raw cowhide (a.k.a leather) as there will be residual moisture. I rotated between open air and a mason jar until dry and stored in same mason jar for re-use (I plan to re-use half with less water FYI). Enjoy and Drink Responsibly...
