First of all, let me just say that the Man who is running things now these for the past 2+ years has to go! Let me explain... I ordered 2 Cookie Trays on November23rd & Paid $109.98 for them in advance. I Needed one of them on 12/11 & the other on 12/21. That being said, the day before I was to pick up the first Cookie Tray, I received a call saying they were going to be Closed & I was asked IF I could instead pick it up on the 12th. No problem. When I went in to pick it up on the 12th this Man looked @ me & disgustingly said "Oh it's you". That was Offensive. Then to the second Cookie Tray yesterday 12/21 I called in the morning to see what time I could pick it up. Conveniently enough the Order for the second Cookie Tray Disappeared & I was asked IF I could pick it up today 12/22 before 1pm. I wasn't Happy, but I Needed it for tomorrow 12/23 & I said OK. I picked up probably close to 1 O'clock & I expressed to one of the Girls that my money is Good anywhere & should have been Good there, but I didn't feel that my Business was appreciated in the least that I've had enough & will Not be back. This Man can Speak to & treat his customers however he Wishes. However, the way he Speaks to & treats his customers is simply a Reflection of Himself, it is completely out of line & it is unacceptable! I will Not Subject myself to it anymore. I am Hopeful that someone else will take Party Cake over, so that I can once again feel welcome there & return in the future. I don't know this Man, therefore I know for a fact that whatever his issues are & have Nothing to do with me. I'm Sorry that he chooses to talk to People & Treat people in general the way he does, but I'm Not going to make it my problem because it's Not my problem to bare. IF you don't like what you're doing, get out!! I am a Retired Nurse for the Commonwealth of PA; I was Free to put my Keys down & walk away anytime I No longer felt I wanted to do my Job anymore. That's the way everyone should feel. I cared about my Patients! You Need to show more Respect to the People who are coming in there & spending their money because without your Loyal Customers, you've got Nothing!!!!
Update: As for the Owners Reply Below. No one actually knows Who the New Owners of Party Cake are now days. This could be anyone Including your "Cashier". This Man doesn't know me, I didn't know him until I Ordered Cookie Trays last Year. He called me to pick up my Cookie Trays because I didn't Pay when I Ordered last Year, I did Pay in Advance this Year the inflated Prices. I have No Problem doing that because I want what I Order, but this Man has some serious issues that I will Not subject myself to again. Read moreBelieve the bad reviews. My entire family and many of our friends exclusively ordered Party Cake for countless years until the last couple because of how bad the quality has become. The new owners have destroyed its reputation. Last year we ordered a cake for my birthday because I was so loyal to the bakery and it was not good. This year, despite the experience prior, a few bad baked goods in between, and aforementioned family and friends calling us crazy... we got a cake for my birthday again with me holding out hope it'd be what it once was. Sadly, it was not edible. The icing tasted sour, the breading tasted stale, and the cake as a whole was just disgusting. My entire family scraped it back into the box and we didn't have a cake. We called for a refund and the manager did apologize and oblige. After a week or so we noticed no refund. We called again and the same manager seemed clueless and again asked for details, amount, date, etc. but he said he'd take care of it. This time he told us he can't issue one and that the owners need to handle... but they've been on vacation. He said he left them a note and promised they would finally handle it. We're over a month out and still no refund... so called this morning. Again, he put blame on the owners but said to come in before 11 today and he would just give us $25 cash. That's good, but we work today and it's a 45 min drive for us, so that doesn't work. Why he couldn't leave it in an envelope, offer a different day, now all of a sudden cant refund card, etc. is beyond me... but thankfully my wife took the call. He finally gave us the owners number so TBD what that yields, if anything. Needless to say our loyalty and patronage to Party Cake is done. You're better off even just going to Giant Eagle for baked goods or decent...
Read moreMy family and I have been going to this bakery for over 40 years. We love the service, the pastries, and everything. We have ordered numerous cakes here for many celebrations. Unfortunately, since the new owners have taken over many things have gone downhill. The service is not so pleasant, the frosting on some cupcakes are overly sweet and the cakes have gone down immensely. My family ordered a cake for a pick up on Sunday March 21. We tried calling on Wednesday to place the order and no answer, finally got through Thursday and placed it. Needless to say when we picked the cake up, it was terrible. I was embarrassed by it to be honest. We bought it to celebrate my father's 76th birthday and what we got was a cake my 10 year old could have made. They messed up the spelling of his name, and when they rewrote it they never capitalized any of the letters. It was a whipped cream cake with NO decorations. I did reach out to them and got an email asking for the information on our order. All she said was they would look into it once they found the order sheet, and staffing issues. I did send them a picture of the cake as well. I am writing this on Tuesday evening and have yet to hear from them anymore. I hope that they resolve this issue. I am not certain if I will ever order a cake from there again especially for an important event. I would actually give a half star if I could.
EDIT The owner did reach out and did the best she could to remedy the situation. As disappointed as I was with the cake we had, the cake itself was still delicious.
