I have been a regular customer for the better part of a year now and I've always really enjoyed the coffee here. No complaints, it's great stuff. Unfortunately, me and my wife came to the shop yesterday to pick up our usual order and the customer service was abysmal. I don't know what the baristas problem was, but the attitude that we received was so unnecessary and really turned us away from this shop. My wife was rudely spoken to and made to wait while other customers were able to walk right in and place their orders immediately. When my wife walked in she was told I need to get to you When I can, but seemingly was able to take the two other groups that walked in behind my wife's orders immediately. Whenever it was finally my wife's turn after standing there for 10 minutes, She ordered our usual order and even though we just watched another customer order this they told us they were out of stock of that item...... We're talking regular coffee here, not some fancy drink with crazy mixes. I don't even understand how that's possible, but it was very clear that the barista just didn't want to take our order and had some sort of a problem with us. We ended up just leaving because it was very obvious that she was annoyed with us just being in the store. I mean the attitude and just the way she spoke to us really made us feel like we were unwelcomed there for whatever reason . Or should I? We did nothing to prompt this. We just walked in and tried to place an order. They seemed kind of busy and it was an hour and a half before they closed so maybe they were just anxious to leave but it's an hour and a half before you close. I don't know what prompted this because we were nothing but nice and respectful while we were in there, but I'm really just left confused by the whole interaction. We're probably not going to come back here just due to that alone. Sad, because we really liked this shop and never expected to be treated like that. The coffee here is great but if that's how we're going to be treated for being regular customers then I'll go somewhere that wants to take my...
Read moreI recently moved to the neighborhood a few weeks ago and wanted to find a nice local coffee place. This seems to be the only coffee place on Brookline boulevard. So I figured why not check it out. I tried their cold brew, plain coffee and peanut butter cookie. My first time to a coffee shop I always get a variety of things just to get a feel for the place. My cold brew didn't have a very distinct coffee taste or much of a vanilla flavoring as that's what I got. It resembled watered down old stale coffee similar to mud. My plain coffee wasn't very strong and didn't have a distinct coffee taste. It resembled the cold brew in that it tasted old like it's been sitting for a while and slightly deluded. The peanut butter cookie was a complete 360 though. It was probably one of the best peanut butter cookies I've ever tasted. It was very unique because it had peanut butter on the top and was super soft and generally a delight. I have to say I hope they improve their coffee quality. I would love to have a nice local place in the neighborhood that has an excellent...
Read moreGotta lot of love for this space. Under their previous owners many, many moons ago (Cannon Coffee), this was the go to spot after school. We used the basement to rehearse for shows, all of our friends worked here at one point, and my little cousin learned to play chess. I was very nervous years ago when new owners came in. But the vibe of this place hasn't changed and I hope the community appreciates what a pillar this place can be for young people. It's so much more than a place for delicious drinks (these specialty drinks are so yummmmy). I loved seeing all the handmade jewelery from local artists being advertised. The posters and flyers on the windows for community events.
I hope 802 stays for many many years to come. Thank you for what you have put...
