The Kickstand Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

I Live Nearby & within Walking distance so I was Happy to see a Sandwhich Shop move in. I have Ordered Four different times & the Food is Overpriced Not to mention Awful. I most recently Ordered a BLT & told the Girl that I Needed the Bacon very well done. She Never bothered to say that it's Microwave Bacon. Then the Salads are Spring Mix, Not Lettuce! The owner said "Lettuce is Fake Salad" Really? Then he said he didn't believe me when I told him I've Ordered there Four times & the Food is Overpriced & Horrible. He added that "Everyone Loves the place". I don't know about that or believe him. It's certainly his preogative to say so, however I gave them Four Separate chances to get it right & Nothing was right in my opinion. For what it's Worth do Not Patronize any Business who doesn't Appreciate your Patronage & puts any Blame on their Patrons rather than taking responsibility for the Displeasure of their Patrons. I am beyond Disappointed with The Kickstand & I wont be back. Do yourself a Favor & go anywhere else! Your Food will otherwise go in the Garbage along with your money. I also personally know others who have Ordered from the Kickstand who are just as Unhappy as I have been Four times over now & according to the owner these are People who are "Out to get him"! I don't Believe that either. People have to eat & would simply like to have something quick to eat @ a Fair Price & that in of itself is too much to ask from a Little Sandwhich Shop whose cutting Corners @ every turn. $7 for a BLT with Microwave Bacon, $7 Spring Mix is their Salad because AGAIN "Lettuce is Fake Salad" (The Owners Words Not mine), I even tried one of their $9 Burgers that promptly went in the Garbage as well as their Grilled Cheese (2 Slices of Cheese on ALL of that Mancini's Bread) which I believe was $6.50) Absolutely Outrageous & Ridiculous. Good Luck there but I don't think you'll Need it because I can't Imagine you'll be there too long @ ALL.

When I first went to the kickstand, I was not too impressed, but a friend of mine told me that they changed their menu up and that the food was incredible now. So I decided to give it a shot for me ,my wife, and my daughters to have lunch . I got two Italian hoagies, and a hamburger dressed up the way I like them .might I add hoagies were incredible and put together neatly. I could try to describe it to you, but it would not do the food justice. Put it this way I normally like my hoagies a particular way. But these where great .because I accidentally forgot to tell them catchup, mustard and mayo on my hamburger and it was still great.They accidentally forgot the Italian dressing. Even without the Italian dressing the hoagies were incredible! Not to mention the cheeseburger, they made with the Mancini’s bread "yeah"!!!!! Fire !!! The service was great. The woman at the counter was very informative and polite. It’s a little hole in the wall, but it is one of those hidden gems. I am so glad that I tried their food again. And would recommend anybody else looking for some good food to give it a shot.. I will see you guys...

They owner of this store is great! He has gone out of his way multiple to offer extra treats to my kids, make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our food. And that we did until i visited on a day that he was not there. I got multiple Italian sandwiches that were dripping with some liquid. I’m guessing it was water from the veggies because Italian dressing was on the side as i had asked. I cannot eat soggy wet bread and i knew my kids wouldn’t either. When i took it back in to show them, i heard the man in the back saying “tell her maybe next time she should order hers extra toasted. Now i have to waste two buns”. Having heard him myself i tried to explain why i was upset and even showed him the soaking wet bun. He was very rude and started yelling at me. I requested my money back for those two items but kept the rest of the food. I’m not sure if the owner realizes how different it is when he is not there.
