Edit: I've been going here for a few months now and I think it's the best, or at least my favorite, bakery in Pittsburgh. Their flavors, textures and items are unlike anything in the area and I love what they bring to the community. Thank you Third Space for being a part of the Pittsburgh community and sharing your delicious talents with us all!
PHENOMENAL! ๐ ๐ง ๐ช
We will be making many returns here. The owners have so much passion and care for baking and you can tell by the flavors, textures, and baked good selection.
We ordered 4 things - a ham, cheddar and chive scone, a buckwheat sesame cookie, an almond eclair, and an onion and poppy Bialy. I'm usually not a scone or eclair person but they were so good here! The cheddar flavor and crust on the scone was fantastic and it has a delicious bite to it with a great outside crust and moist inside. The cookies texture was unreal - a lightly caramelized exterior, earthy buckwheat with moist brown butter interior, toasted sesame seeds on top, and some auxillary notes of almost blueberry or fig. So good!
Each baked good was around $3-5
Great to have a new, delightful bakery and space to learn about baking...
ย ย ย Read moreI cannot overstate how excited I am about Third Space. They have chilled desserts, fresh bread, pastries, and I think? sandwiches, although I haven't made it that far.
I recommend the oat porridge loaf (favorite) and kalamata olive loaf. The sesame buckwheat cookie is unreal. Cardamom buns, one of my favorite treats that I haven't seen outside of Sweden or Up North Michigan, are a thrilling addition. The sticky bun is crazy good. There are little buckwheat galettes that have an ever-changing assortment of seasonal fruit. Morel flatbreads looked lovely but the man in front of me snagged the last one. I made the mistake of walking here on my first visit and had to tote everything home. Drinkswise, they have nice strong coffee and fruity seasonal shrubs. Oh, and you can buy flowers that were grown up the street!
I can't wait to take a class here. In the true embodiment of the concept of a third space, I believe that this lovely little corner shop brings so much to the neighborhood. I look forward to seeing them grow and to enjoy the seasonal menu items that are...
ย ย ย Read moreThis bakery in Garfield has something for everyone. My favorites are amazing sourdough with cool ancient grains like spelt and kamut, khachapuri, classic sticky buns, and focaccia. I think it's multiple bakers who run the shop cooperatively, so the menu is varied and constantly changing. The outdoor patio is super cute if you're looking for a chill place to have a treat. They are tip-free and pay living wages, which makes them a great addition to the...
