London Best Fish & Chip — Restaurant in Placerville

I cannot complain about the food, it's always amazing. We eat here often. It's one of the best places in town. But tonight I went in to get dinner. A man ordered his food. His wife and son came in and sat with him. They had gotten the boy food from the restaurant next door. He was about 4ish just a little guy. They were getting his food set up to eat. They were still waiting on the food they had bought at this restaurant. The owner came up to this family and pointed to the sign on the door that read no eating food from other restaurants inside this establishment. He told them the boy couldn't eat his dinner from the other place In there and explained he could go outside and eat.it was 7pm and cold outside. They started packing up the boys dinner. He didn't understand he was getting upset and crying he just wanted to eat his dinner. The dad packed him up and took him to the car while the mom waited for their food. The only person the little boy was bothering was the owner. He couldn't let a young child sit there and eat a meal. Granted it wasn't from his restaurant and it was posted. The owner was out of line and very wrong in every way. I was so disappointed as a mother, a manager of a business ,and a human in the lack of decency that the owner displayed to that family tonight. It was to cold to go eat outside. It really hurt my heart to watch this happen to this family, he was just a toddler that...

I was in the mood for Fish n chips after visiting the market Saturday. Walked by this place and my British wife said no way she is eating their fish. always says “No way it’s better than the fish in England “ blah blah. Hear it every time. So I checked the reviews and saw 4.7 - pretty strong I told her. She agreed to split a 2-piece with me as a test. Wait 30+ minutes for the order to be ready and got in the car to head home. She opened the container to reveal 2 over fried pieces of fish and fries. Had the vinegar so I gave it a try. Literally no taste other than vinegar. Like nothing - I thought I had Covid. We each had 2 bites just to make sure and bailed on it. Horrible. Wasted $10. All I can think of is those students must be high AF when eating this food and just like the crunch. SAVE YOUR $. We were just visiting town to check out some of the apple orchards. Holy cow this place was a hidden gem. I'm actually a bit upset that I live so many hours away from this spot - so grateful we found this today. Additionally, it was a total accident that the Tesla supercharger happened to be right next door, so we knocked out 2 birds with one stone and got our car recharged while we ate.

Food was incredible. I travel a ton... and this fish and chips is in my top 3 best fish and chips i've ever had. Incredible local spot. I'd consider driving hours just to try this again....
