Boardwalk Subs — Restaurant in Plainfield Charter Township

I've been to this location 5 times since they have opened. My first experience was not good. I had not ever been to Boardwalk Subs before. The gentleman taking my order didn't offer any guidance in what to order or what was good to try. It was a very socially awkward experience. The meat for our subs was sliced thicker than I would have liked too. However, like I said, this was our first time here and wanted to at least give it a try. I was not impressed with my sandwich at all and couldn't even eat it after taking a few bites. The toppings were piled on (which isn't too bad in normal situations), but the mayo was way too much and ruined the sandwich. Plus, the meat being so thick just didn't taste right.

Although my experience was bad, I knew they had just opened and that I should give them another try. My next time there was perfect! I actually understood why they were in business. To my surprise, the meat was sliced thinner without me having to ask and the customer experience was so much better! I enjoyed my sandwich this vist.

Unfortunately with my 5 visits, there have only been 2 good experiences out of the 5. My overall opinion is they could improve on consistency and customer service.

A little hard to get to due to traffic on Plainfield thanks to construction but it's so worth it. I walked and immediately greeted with big smiles from Anna, Matt and Arlin. I didn't feel like they were fake customer service smiles but real and welcoming. Upon entrance I'm acknowledged no matter how busy they are. When it was my turn to place my order, Anna was very respectful and double checked that I did not want onions. I was very confident that my order was correct. I sat down to eat in the building, usually I would just get my meal and go home. But the environment was very lively and had amazing vibes so I decided to eat in. When the first bite hit my taste buds my world was changed. I had always gone to other sub places but now I only go to the boardwalk subs on Plainfield. Matt, Anna, and Arlin were very nice and gave me one of the best and most memorable customer service experiences that I have yet to experience...

I am a returning customer from this shop and have even recommend this place to many people! I recently had a bad experience here over the weekend. I was getting a sub with boyfriend and the person helping us had a lot to say about me about my body! This really made me uncomfortable and never want to come back! They proceeded to tell me a female, I looked like their little son and needed to eat 7 more sandwiches. I immediately felt disgusted from experiencing this from a worker when all I wanted was a sandwich. I thought companies just wanted customers to feel welcomed and come back but this experience did the opposite.
