Update: 7:30 New Year's Eve Stopped in for drinks and a meal. We headed to the back bar in the glass room as always. Some of the bartenders know us and will chat a little. Tonight our server was not as convivial. We complemented on her gold lame blouse and tiara without much reaction... that's ok not everyone is always in a good mood. We had a few drinks and then asked to order food. I was in the mood for some seafood and pasta. I asked if I could get the seafood pasta without the shrimp (shrimp tends to cause my gout to flair up) and maybe a few more clams or squid instead. The server just shook her head and said no. Well the how about the grouper with pasta instead of potatoes, this was a No too. Can I get any fish with pasta? NO with head shaking. Can I purchase a side of pasta for the fish...NO, head never stopped shaking. So I said, I give up just bring me the seafood pasta and I will pick out the shrimp. She took our order and left without a word. I was puzzled as to why none of my requests could be accommodated. I had made substitutions in the past, we have eaten here a lot many times bringing friends and family. The restaurant and bar were surprisingly not busy at all. All I could figure was that Sysco (commercial food supplier) was now pre-packaging their food and they just warm it up?? we ate left a decent tip (not as much as usual) and left. No goodby or have a nice night from the server, just a side long glance. Not a good dining experience from our go to Italian restaurant. So I think we will have to drive a little farther for a new go to spot. The good news is that Grand Rapids has lots of wonderful Italian restaurants. Last week we had a great meal and experience at JTs. Before that Salvatore's where you can always get a side of pasta. Fred's, Uccello's and Pietro's are always accommodating. It will be interesting to see managements response or if they even care.
ORIGINAL REVIEW I really like this place for their expanded bar area. It's a great place to relax and to have some drinks and a snack. We came here with friends for a late lunch. I thought my food was good, and great service. I like this place and...
Read moreExtremely dissapointed. I have had very few good experiences eating from this location. The food is usually good when they can manage to get my order right, but this incident finally made me feel the need to say something. I have friends who've worked in pizza joints so I get the weekends are hard and there is snow, but first of all don't say you'll deliver when you wont. I checked on the site our house as in the delivery area and we had delivery 2 weeks ago from here. Tonight they said they would, so my boyfriend and I headed home after donating plasma to wait for it. They called just after we reached home and changed their mind telling us we needed to pick up the pizza since their delivery driver says they don't drive out here. My boyfriend gets there and they give us 5 bucks off the pizza. He gets home and I open the cold pizza to find it isn't even our order. I call back asking to talk to a manager for him to tell us he doesn't know how that happened, he sorry. He can credit us or make a new pizza which we'd have to get. Neither are good options and this pizza that was wrongly sold to us was nothing we would eat. So my poor boyfriend is driving back out to get another pizza and I opened the site and put our address I. To show the manager we are in their delivery range. They are lucky I'm not a screamer, but I'm damn close right now. 9 pm with no food after both of us working a ten hour day. Their service is pathetic and I'm sorely disappointed in how management handles these mistakes. I doubt I will order or eat from this...
Read moreI’ve ordered a pizza for pick up and my family decided to eat there. Unfortunately in this establishment the customer CAN NOT change their mind and eat inside the restaurant. I’ve called 10 minutes before pickup to let them know we would like to dine in. A guy told me I could NOT do that!!! Otherwise I would take the tip away from the server. You don’t decide were my tips go to it’s my money!!! First of all if I decide to dine in I have to order drinks if I wanted any extra item I have to order it thru a server common sense to tip for service given. He told me I could go and eat at the park but I could not take their own pizza inside the establishment. I know I have to wait for a table and get service thru a server. This is ridiculous!!! An establishment should not tell no body where they should eat once their food has been paid for. Your job is not that complicated instead of boxing it place it in a tray is not that hard nor should you make it that complicated. You guys definitely lost a loyal customer that has supported your business for years. Never again am I giving you my business if I could give you guys zero starts I would. Now the people from pick up nor the servers get tips you welcome!!! Next time if a person decides to dine-in ahead of time think about they would older appetizers drinks dessert that would be more money for your establishment and more...
