Milkshake and Cookies — Restaurant in Plainfield

As we walk into the establishment there is one other person was there and they seem to know the clerk behind the counter. I only assume this because the person hadn’t ordered anything and was having a conversation and laughing with the clerk while not having any kind of order in front of them. Meanwhile there are other employees sitting off to the back and must be on break because they were both eating and scrolling on their phones.

We (family of 3) proceed to place our order (a brownie & 2 milkshakes) and we go and sit down. While placing our order another family of 4 walks in and places their order right after us.

The clerk brings out the brownie from our order but no milk shakes. He then brings out the family of 4 their order. As the clerk is going back behind the counter he is still talking with his friend the entire time. Another family of 3 walks in and the clerk takes their order. One of the other employees who I assume was on break gets up and makes the orders that have just been placed and brings them to the newest family while the clerk jokes and laughs with his friend and proceeds to make him a cup of ice cream and we are still waiting on 2 milkshake!!

That 7 people/ 8 of you count the friend who have now gotten their orders before we got 2 milkshakes.

Long story short it shouldn’t take 25 minutes to get milkshakes while placing your order before everyone else.

Save your time and effort and go to Oberweiss down the street. You’ll be in and out of there before you even get your order at...

We are small business supporters, so we were very excited to visit this place when it first opened. We have been here 4 times and I regret to say that the service and efficiency here needs some work.

The ice cream has always been great at each visit. The selection is good and the flavors are very fun. Definitely something for everyone. The cookies are large and pretty tasty, and we are always given the option to have them warmed.

The decor is beautiful and tasteful. The store itself is very clean.

The service here is far from timely and efficient. Our first 3 visits we brought our kids, so we know a family of 5 takes a little more time. But why has it taken over 15 minutes 3 different times for single scoop cups of ice cream?

Our last visit was just my husband and I, on a Saturday evening, in January. There was one other couple in the store waiting for their order. We walked in, ordered a single scoop of ice cream and a cookie to go. There were 3 employees working. My husband and I once again, sat and waited for way too long for a very simple order.

My 3 star review is simply regarding the lack of efficiency and orderliness. There is no reason to make customers wait so long, especially when the store seems staffed properly and there aren't many...

We just came across Milkshake and Cookies in Plainfield IL while we were leaving a restaurant in the same shopping center. We walked in to a beautiful establishment that has, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate, candy, and a variety of ice cream. They have really nice background music playing which adds to the very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The two girls at the counter were friendly and helpful. I ordered a peanut butter cookie, which they asked if I wanted warmed up, it was huge and delicious. Not to resist the ice cream, I ordered a scoop of the chocolate moose tracks, again delicious. My husband had the chocolate chip cookie and mint chip and he said it was great. Give this place a try. Between the selections, friendly staff, great atmosphere and the eating tables outside that have warm lights on them, it is definitely a place to go spend some time and enjoy good treats. We will...
