I have always loved Penn Station, but have noticed the use of meat in recent years is less, so I always order extra meat, and also get the grilled mushrooms and onions. Went in last night ordered my usual, (so i know what to expect, because I've had it many times.) It was a chicken cordon bleu, with extra meat, & mushrooms & onions. After all that it came to a little over $20, the only extra bought was a cookie. I quickly noticed, there was not extra meat ((because i order it the same way every time.) In fact, i had trouble even finding chicken. Also I noticed there were 3 slices of mushrooms. Yes I went through the entire sandwich after my first bite, and I saw none, and noticed the "regular" amount of meat that is used now. Which isn't much. I understand people make mistakes, but if you pay almost $20 for a sandwich you expect to get it, the way you order it. If a person if eating a sandwich and pays more for the extras, they should get those extras. Been going to Penn Station for over 20 years & have been disappointed at the lack of meat on the sandwich for a few years now. Us regular customers know the difference, but don't insult our intelligence by trying to skimp on a sandwich that has already been decreased in meat and increased in price. And if the order is wrong, I'm always hesitant to return it, as they seemingly take it as an insult that they got the order wrong & have to remake it, so i suffered through the bread and vegetable sandwich, that's supposed to be so messy you have to use multiple napkins. It was just dry and...
Read moreMet my Fiancé during lunch, so I expected it to be busy. Line moved decently and we placed our order. I ordered a philly cheesesteak(no banana pepper, no mayo, no pizza sauce). Her pizza sub came out fine... my philly was less than standard. Very small amount of meat. They put a tiny amount of onions but no mushrooms whatsoever. I asked if they can put some mote onions and sautéed mushrooms(even though the amount of meat was less than average). She took back my sandwich and put raw mushrooms on top and said here ya go... After opening my sandwich and seeing this I just dealt with it as I only had so much time as did my Fiancé. I'm not sure if they were low or just stingy that day but I won't be coming back to this location again. I've been at leadt 4 or 5 other times to this one and never had an issue, they just didnt seem to care after spending close to $30. The photo I posted was after they added the...
Read moreI love Penn Station, or rather, I love the Philly steak sandwich. 🤤 However on this visit the staff was visible upset that we didn't have a to go order. At the time we didn't realize it was closing time and the staff was ready to go home. In retrospect it all made sense, we were rushed through our order. we were asked if we wanted more tea, because they wanted to clean the urn. We were also told they didn't have any ketchup, perhaps because the dispenser was already cleaned. My sandwich came without onions even though I only asked for the mushrooms to be left off. I also wouldn't have ordered fries if I'd known condiments were not available. Just bad service at a place I...
