Wow. This is some damn good soul food right here. . Potato salad? Yessss pleeeaaassseee. Collards? Hells yeah. Jerk chicken? Yeah mon! This place is so clean and the food is delicioso. I came here after a funeral/burial for a loved one. I was so distraught. The only comfort I could find was in food. So my sister hipped me to this spot near her job. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the artwork on the wall and the clean and spacious seating area. I had the jerk chicken with collards and potato salad. I could not wait to get home to try it. The portion size was sufficient for $12.00. I really wanted to try the dessert but nothing chocolate was available that day. There is plenty to choose from. Ox tail, catfish, fried whiting, Turkey wings, and meat loaf just to name a few. You have cabbage, collards, rice, and the ubiquitous Mac and cheese to add for sides. I can't wait to get back here. Small family owned Soul Food restaurant. The food tastes good, with consistent flavor, adequate portion size and average prices. The space is clean although the numerous worn handwritten signs taped to the hot food display glass looks a bit tacky with “Cash Only” flyers being the most dominant. There is plenty of parking in the municipal lot next door. It is strongly suggested that all takeout orders are called in ahead of time because the wait time when ordering at the counter can be long and frustrating and you might leave with the lingering aroma of fried chicken/fish grease in your clothing. Limited soft drink selection in the refrigerated case. Counter staff is friendly, although the owner can be a bit rude during the typical busy weekend rush with some eye-rolling and teeth sucking when customers ask her food prep...

I want to say that this restaurant has been amazing. The food is always fresh and hot!! My aunt, Cynthia, introduced me to this restaurant when she was ordering dinners for my grandma. One day she asked me if I wanted something from there and I looked up the menu and seen the turkey wings that they serve on Wednesdays and Sundays.. I had the turkey wings and they fell off the bone, I was in love.. Fast forward now to a week ago they catered for my grandma’s repast and the food was sooo delicious that people are talking about the food today!!
