T & L Catering — Attraction in North Plainfield

I chose T&L Catering for my wedding in May, and I couldn't be more satisfied! I was first attracted to them due to their affordable prices and the packages available, which aside from the food include things like linens, plates and glassware, and even tents. Though their office location is not the fanciest looking place (to be honest, that made us a little wary at first), their service is great and their staff is friendly, warm, and attentive. From the first meetings, to paying our deposits and final balances, to just calling for general questions, I always felt well taken care of.

We met with Tom, who has been in the business for years, and he was able to give us lots of advice regarding details about the food, how to go about getting our own liquor for the wedding since we were planning on doing that to save money, and more. The tasting was wonderful as well and Tom invited us to try a number of different items from the menu we wanted. He was very flexible with everyone.

His back and forth via email leaves a little to be desired - his emails are short and do not have a lot of detail, which can be a bit nerve-wracking for a bride... But I decided to trust him since he has been doing this for so long, and once we got on the phone, he clarified all my questions very well. He definitely goes above and beyond to help - for example - though the mixers for the bar didn't specifically include lemon juice and simple syrup (items we needed for a signature drink we wanted for our bar), he said he would provide them for us anyway and he did.

He kept in touch quite well about a week or two before the wedding and went through all the details with us. He then put us in contact with GeorgeAnn, who was our maitre d' for the evening, and she was also great at going through details with us to make sure everything would go smoothly on our special day.

On the day of the wedding, my friends and family were well taken care of by GeorgeAnn and the rest of the T&L Catering service crew. Our guests told us how delicious the food was, and everyone was happy with the bar service as well. We even had a vegan and two vegetarians, and Tom and GeorgeAnn made sure they each got a large, delicious meal specially made for them since most of our dishes contained meat. All three said the meals were great.

GeorgeAnn always made sure my husband and I were taken care of during the day, making sure we always had water, drinks, and food, from the cocktail hour all the way through dinner and dessert at the reception. They also packed away all the leftover food for us to take home at the end of the night, which was awesome since everyone was hungry at our after party at the hotel. My guests were very happy to have the food again, especially the appetizers!

All in all, we are so glad we used T&L Catering for our wedding. We got great food and great service at a great price. Thank you...

WOW! This catering company is fantastic and I can't even put into enough words how grateful my husband and I to have used them for our wedding! My wedding was June 15, 2019 and everything was SO smooth because of them. We had wedding reception in the backyard of our home so we needed everything from them! From the beginning, Tom (the owner), was accommodating and extremely honest with us. Working on the menu, figuring out the amount of rentals needed and how much staff was super easy. The day of the wedding the staff was incredible - I received multiple compliments regarding the entire staff the entire night. To start, Jaci, the maitre'd, was the greatest thing for the night. She helped me every step of the way and ran the wedding so great! She was on top of absolutely everything! Although I didn't get to know the servers very well, they were so kind, helpful, and accommodating. I heard from everyone who spoke with them how sweet they all were! The servers: Tyler, Kim, Dan, Val, Alexander and Toni. Tom and Hector were the bartenders and I continued to hear how awesome they were!! Whoever was near them all night continued to rave about the fun they had with them. They were both so amazing - my bridal party went to Hector the majority of the night and couldn't stop talking about how great he was! Tom Jr. was the chef of the night and thank goodness, because the food was amazing! ALL NIGHT people would come up to me asking who the caterers were because it was some of the best food they've ever had. I can't stop thinking about the amazing hors d'oeuvres - bacon wrapped scallops...YUMM.

We selected T&L as our wedding caterer in early 2020 after doing a tasting with them. At the tasting, we were very impressed with their quality of food and services included with their wedding packages. Tom even allowed us to come back for a 2nd tasting to try a few more items to round out our menu.

They were fantastic to work with amidst us needing to postpone the event multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were very communicative and understanding throughout the whole process, so when our big day finally happened on 10/23/21, the whole catering team provided great service and fantastic food. Our maitre'd was Georganne who was a wonderful leader for the whole catering team and a great point person for all of the day's catering needs. Our guests are still raving about how delicious the food was! We have especially gotten many compliments on their Asian stir fry station at cocktail hour. We unfortunately never got to try it because our photos ran long, but that's all the more reason to book T&L for a future event.

Some other cocktail hour favorites were the prosciutto wrapped melon, pigs in a blanket, and cheese quesadillas. And for dinner buffet favorites, the guests complimented the flounder francaise and penne a la vodka. We are so happy the guests enjoyed all our selections.
